Some would say that you cannot build an artist. You are either born with the charisma and abilities that make a true artist or you are not.

Born Torshawn Roland, Iceman is a perfect example of a natural artist. Hailing from the city of Pasadena, California, perhaps better known as the City of The Roses, Iceman has always been a unique individual. As a youth he developed a reputation on his hometown streets as a local basketball star, avid boxer, and a formidable lunchroom battle contestant with a knack for beat-boxing. Marked by a signature natural-voice style and an effortless flow, as Iceman grew so did the inherent gifts which would eventually help elevate him to the forefront of a burgeoning 1990s West Coast hip-hop scene. Competing in numerous local M.C. battle competitions at well-known Los Angeles venues such as The Good Life, Club Elements, Project Blowed, and The Key Club; Iceman would eventually look to spread his wings and become a more established artist and songwriter.

As front-man of the 3-man collective known as Durtee Unit Iceman would soon become a veteran performer showcased in numerous venues as the opening act for the likes of KRS-One, Slum Village, The Black-Eyed Peas, Xzibit, Jon B, Next, and also as a featured performer at Los Angeles radio station 100.3 The Beats Summer Jam. With influences ranging from funk and hip hop to rock and neo-soul, Icemans ability to paint a picture through song is a rare talent which most musicians strive their whole career to master. It is this same talent which would eventually land him an appearance on the syndicated hip-hop radio show The Wake Up Shows first major release Sway and Tech present This or That (Interscope 1999) with the song Clientele Further expanding his musical growth Iceman is also featured on rock group Crazy Towns debut album The Gift of Game (Sony 1999) with the song Think Fast and is credited as a songwriter on their 2002 Sony release Dark Horse.

Now as a seasoned performer and established songwriter Iceman is ready for nothing but heavy rotation. With a mix of earth-shattering beats, unforgettable hooks, and an impeccable flow Iceman is capable of concocting feel-good songs that can get the party started as well as gritty street anthems guaranteed to get even the toughest thug off of his post. Most artists live to write songs, but when you are a natural artist like Iceman you write songs to live.
