Drum & Bass is an ever growing scene and increasingly more producers from around the globe are making the sound their own. Heading up this international revolution are Duo Infernale. Hailing from Berlin, Germany their goal is to bring quality music to D&B fans across the world.

In 2004, Duo Infernale's sweet and sultry bootleg of Alicia Keys hit single, 'You Dont Know My Name' caused a ruckus on dance floors from Berlin to Birmingham. The tune first got major airplay on L Doubles 1Xtra Show and, following its debut, the tune received heavy support from DJs such as Bailey, Kasra, SKC & Physics.

'You Dont Know My Name' was only the beginning for Duo Infernale. Although their sound was both original and fresh, their tunes seemed to be overlooked by the majority of the big dogs. Until now that is! Thanks to a little help from Elhornet of Pendulum fame the speaker busting 'Positive Vibes' made it's way to the ears of DJ Fresh and the Dogs On Acid crew and has been snapped up for their brand new 'Under Construction' imprint.

The Reggae tinged 'Positive Vibes' and the tranced out 'Pipe Dreams' are both already receiving strong airplay on BBC Radio 1 & Baileys 'Intabeats' show and sitting in the boxes of some of the scenes big players including Pendulum, Fresh, Adam F, Swift, Bryan Gee, Flight and many more.

Not that Duo Infernale are set to be a 'one hit wonder', they've already signed their next release to Timeless Recordings, Dispatch, Horizons Music and its sub-label Progress and countless more labels are snapping at their heels to get a Duo Infernale release. Meanwhile their dubs are setting D&B message boards alight with fans eager to talk about this exciting new double act. It's not often that new talent comes through and grabs the attention of so many Junglists at once but Duo Infernale have done just that.

Reviews:

Lost In The World / Infernal Dub

If Duo Infernale keep delivering tracks as interesting and proficient as these it won't be long before they establish themselves in the higher ranks of the drum & bass production corps. Vibe-wise, "Lost In The World" is a deep and rugged sci-fi roller with a cool ethereal vocal hook, while the flip heads out with a rougher blend of funked up guitar, chunky beats and reggae vox. Both are excellent. (Knowledge)

Playing Games (Original / Drifter Remix)

In reviewing their Timeless release last issue I opined that if Duo Infernale kept delivering such quality they would quickly reach the upper rungs of the drum & bass production ladder; so it's great to hear that this Horizons Music is another gem. Dropping deeper than previously, "Playing Games" is a beautiful rough-with-the-smooth roller, and backed with a tougher Drifter remix is a high grade package. (Knowledge)

After a succession of releases on Timeless and Under Construction the Duo Infernale go for the jugular with this one as they get their debut release on Horizons Music. "Playing Games", originally written and produced by the Duo comes in atmospherically with beautiful keys and lush strings alongside sweet vocal samples that get more intense as the tracks rolls on. Flip for the Drifter remix: this one is pretty much the same but with more energy on the drop, with clean and precise amen breaks and some LFO bassline pressure making for a tidy contrast to the original. (ATM)

German production team Duo Infernale have made an incredible impact on the international D&B scene with just a handful of releases, and this debut 12" for Horizons looks sure to propel their profile further. "Playing Games" is a beautiful atmospheric roller, with classy keys and luxurious strings paving the way for deep bass and soulful female vocal touches. The reverse includes a Drifter remix, toughening up the beats and bassline, and adding pressure to the drop, while retaining the original's quality feel. (IDJ - Top Tune)

Upcoming outfit, Duo Infernale land on Horizons Music for this new single, which comes with the firm seal of approval from Noisia aka Drifter on the remix flip. The original is a calm, warming roller. Serene keys and eerie strings lead you in before the drop, where they're joined by a soulful vocal sample - one for the early morning. On the flip Noisia continue to show why they are the ones to watch this year with a remix that ramps things up a notch while keeping the serene vibes of the original. As usual with them though, it's the drums you've got to watch for. A 12" that is 'simply splendid' (in best posh accent). (DOA)
