The DUGOUT is truly a phenomenon in today's world of music. Their innovative unapologetic approach to creating and promoting their work has grabbed the attention of music lovers worldwide. THE DUGOUT consists of core members MERCURY, STARPOWER, CAVALIER, STAFF ACE, JUST HOLLA, AND MAUBY BITTERS, but their movement has expanded to include a number of up and coming artists in a variety of media. THE DUGOUT also represents a return and resurrection of Black music that had feeling and 'soul', not simply commercial appeal. Each member of the crew brings a unique style and perspective to the table that makes for a rather formidable team. Together, THE DUGOUT has risen to the top of the New York underground scene, rocking crowds at venues such as Southpaw, Public Assembly, Mercury Lounge, The Bowery Poetry Club, and The Tank. THE DUGOUT has expanded their fan base across the globe through their website, www.thedugoutmusic.com, and of course, Myspace. This expansion has allowed them to venture out of NYC to perform up and down the East Coast, at venues such as the Atrium and Wild Apache(Atlanta, GA), and Cousin Larry's (Danbury, CT), as well as numerous colleges and universities. THE DUGOUT has also made its way into the hearts of the press, here's what some of them have to say: Brett Johnson former editor of Vibe and the Source writes: "Its refreshing to see the Dugout collective produce films and music that offer a progressive vision of what quality Hip-Hop can sound and look like." Andrew Ricketts BLOW! Magazine contributor writes: "The Dugout is the first group to give me faith in the resurrection of New York rap. I think people will believe it when they see it." Black Beat Magazine The Hot Spot: "The Dugout has been pitching their brand of hip-hop up and down the east coast. Releasing both self-produced mix-tapes and original recordings created in the sanctity of their own home studio, this crew melds together street savvy intelligence with a hint of thug-braggadocio for a sound that could easily have been spawned from Brooklyn's heyday of the mid to late '90s."
