DUB ADDICT SOUND SYSTEM is a French formation located in Lyon. The group began its activities in 2002.
Passionately fond of Jamaican Dubs & Electronic, DUB ADDICT is producing his own music with many different influences such as ethical sounds, roots dub, steppas, heavy dub, electro music
They play it through their own customized sound system whose is inspired by Jamaican and English traditional sounds, but with a french touch. At present, they are developing an 8 KW power system and can wire for sound a hall for about 700 people. It is also really effective for strong sensations in the open!!
The idea is to go to towns the world over and produce Dub & good's vibes. all night long.
DUB ADDICT's artists are composed by 3 live acts (own productions), a DJ Selector and a singer:
Live acts:
PILAH / His productions are a mixture of cuttings reggae dubs & tones drawn from original film sound tracks, ethical sounds and sound tinkering.He likes to work with different singers like Learoy Green (UK) or Pilgrim. He is also the guitarist for the French group " Kaly Live Dub " (Pias/DDP). Live show about 1 h 30
ROOTS MASSACRE / His music brings a Roots Dub colour to the group. His production methods respect the old school spirit of 70's Jamaican. During the performances, he is accompanied by the singer Pilgrim. Live show, about 1h.
OSSR aka BOUDOU /Sound engineer at OSSR studio he produces many band like high tone or kaly .his live for Dub Addict is a French transgenic Dub, with many different influences such as electro techno & break beat. It's a dynamic live session!! Live show, about 1 h
Selector:
19"DEMOLITION"DUB / He is the Selector of Dub Addict Sound. His wild grouping of sounds plunges you into Dub from the roots to the future of dub . He improvises on all tracks he plays with many Dub effects. He can be accompanied by Pilgrim. Live show, 2/3 h or more.
Singer:
PILGRIM / He is the Singer for Dub Addict Sound. His melodic voice has a 60's to 70's sound. He likes to compose freedom songs, and wants to put over peace messages. He is a man of great sensibility and humanity. He used to work on Roots Massacre productions but now, he has begun great interpretations of certain compositions of Pilah. He also sings with other groups, for example, Inna Rose (Lyon / France).
Playing conditions :
With sound system : All the artists or a part of them. (2 mini) / Transport conditions: a truck and also a car if with all the crew.
Without sound system: All the artists or part of them.as wanted by the producers/ Transport conditions: car, train or plane.
We are open with clash and meeting with many Dub, Dub steps, Electro Artists.

Passionnés de dub et de musiques jamaicaines, Dub Addict produit et diffuse sa musique sur son Sound System ; enceintes et amplis inspirés des sonos traditionnelles jamaicaines et anglaises.

PILAH Guitariste de KALYLIVEDUB, il mixe ses productions en live avec une table de mixage et divers multi-effets. Il offre un set mélangeant du reggae-dub incisif, des bricolages sonores électro et les voix de chanteurs comme Rod Taylor ou Learoy Green, enregistrées lors de collaborations au sein du collectif DUB ADDICT.UN live très abouti qui se démarque de la scène steppa dub française par un style et des arrangements uniques.
Il est accompagné au chant par Joe Pilgrim.

ROOTS MASSACRE Sa musique apporte une couleur Roots Dub au collectif. Sa méthode de production, digne de King Tubby, respecte l'esprit old school des 70's jamaicaines. Son premier maxi "fools policy" feat Learoy Green produit par DUB ADDICT, a été salué par la presse et joué par les plus grand sound system anglais. OSSR aka BOUDOU /Ingénieur du son a l'ossr studio ,il a mixé les albums de groupes tels que Kaly Live Dub ou High Tone. Lors de son live, il produit un dub qu'on pourrait qualifier de transgénique. Le Selector:
19DUB Dj selecta depuis plus de 10 ans, 19DUB distribue un mix évolutif d'une selection, roots to digital dub, trié sur le volet, avec dans ses valises quelques perles de dubplates recuperées au fil de ses rencontres. Il agrémente son set d'effets (écho, réverbe, sirène) donnant à son mix une nouvelle dimension. Live show, 2/3h or more.
Au Chant:
PILGRIM Chanteur officiel de Dub Addict Sound System, sa voie mélodique résonne à l'image des années 1960'/70'. Compositeur doté d'une grande sensibilité & humanité, ses chansons son une ode à la liberté, la paix, l'amour, la nature…
Pour Dub Addict, il travaille essentiellement avec ROOTS MASSACRE mais intervient aujourd'hui sur certaines compositions de PILAH.
Il laisse libre court à son inspiration sur les lives et mixes du collectif…
La formation se produit en live avec son sound system mais plusieurs configurations de prestation peuvent etre envisagées: formation avec ou sans systeme son, tous les membres ou une partie….
