Isaac Heywood has been working with a number of different artists over the last 15 years. As a session player, he has been involved in many different genres of music both locally and internationally. Isaac has also been the drummer for NIGHTMARES ON WAX since 1996. This has consisted mostly of touring, radio and T.V., but he dose make an appearance on the lastest album in the N.O.W. catalogue, 'IN A SPACE OUTTA SOUND', featuring and co-writing with DJ EASE and MO'ZEZ (vocalist from ZERO 7), on 'I AM YOU'. Other recent projects include touring with UK HIP HOP band BRAINTAX and gigging the debut album 'SO STILL' with MO'ZEZ. Also look out for a new project in 2007 from producer NEGGHEAD, whom Isaac has been working with.
T.V. work has included performances with ANGIE STONE, LEE RYAN and MEATLOAF. Since 2002 Isaac has been the drummer with CHUNKY BUTT FUNKY, a Leeds based Funk / Soul group who can be seen regularly on the U.K. circuit. (check out gig listings!) The band features frontman Reverand Chunky (Cleve Frecklteon), Peter Shand (bass, The New Mastersounds), Ben Barker (guitar, The Haggis Horns) and Jason Rae (sax, The Haggis Horns and Corrine Bailey-Rae). Other artists Isaac has had the pleasure of jamming/gigging/touring/supporting with include Macy Gray, Roy Ayres, The Crusaders, Shovell (The Drum Warrior, M-People) Corrine Bailey-Rae, JD73 (Dan Goldman, Morcheeba), Yolanda Charles (Mamayo and Robbie Williams), Oak (which included working with producer FLOOD), Los Lodrones, Marden Hill, D.J. Wayne Sealey, L.S.K., Mystro (M.C), Dubbledge (M.C), Jhe5t (M.C), D.J. Kam, Iration Steppas, Eddie Tatton, The Stevie Williams Band, Chris Dawkins, Cara Robinson, Hayley Gaftarnick, Fuzzy Jones, Lara Rose, Sulene Fleming (SWEET SUZI,) Eddie Roberts (THE NEW MASTERSOUNDS), Sweet Blood, Little Match Girl, Dalores, Workshy and Hood.to name but a few!!
DRUMMERIZE is also now performing on V-Drums at club nights with DJ POPPY.
Ize also teaches drumming through schools and workshops. He works along side Leeds City Council each year on the URBAN FUSION MUSIC PROJECT. During which he mentors musicians/song writers through the whole process of collaborating, writing, rehearsing, recording and performing.
Workshops have included spending time in the townships of East London, South Africa "The time in South Afrca has to be amongst the most treasured in life! A truly inspirational experience!"
