Hello and thanx for stopping by! My name is Derico Watson and I'm a musician that specializes in the area of Drums and Percussion. I'm also a Christian brother after the heart of Jesus! I wish you Blessings, Love, Joy & Peace as you navigate through My Space. I reside in Nashville, TN. My main gig is with the Victor Wooten Band. Derico Watson Biography
Born in Muskegon, Mi., Derico D. Watson began playing drums and percussion at the age of six. A few short years later he played regularly at his grandmother's church. Derico remembers, "I always liked to play to my grandmother's records using Quaker Oats boxes, coffee cans, you name it. I was told then that I had a natural talent gift from God."
Derico went on to graduate from Muskegon Public Schools where he developed his skills while performing with the Jazz, Marching and Concert Bands. Watson, a accomplished educator and clinician has performed and or recorded with artists such as Victor Wooten, Felix Pastorius, Kirk Franklin, Beverly Crawford, Prasanna, HIS Image, Steve Bailey and J.D. Blair just to name a few. He's also toured with Dr. Marvin Sapp, the Jeff Coffin Mu'Tet, Stacie Orrico, the Extreme Bass Trio and the Derico Watson Group which has appeared with James Brown, Spyro Gyra, Nelson Rangell and Earth, Wind and Fire.
Currently, Watson plays and tours with the Victor Wooten Band and resides in Nashville, TN.
