DOPEST DAME Who is Dopest Dame? Dopest Dame is not just a name, its a way of life. Being the dopest or the best at what you do, specifically from a females perspective, is what Dopest Dame personifies. 4/24/1980, yep, she slid out, yep, a gorgeous baby Didnt keep her for himself, the Lord is crazy Born Ebony Sharee Simpson, Dopest Dame grew up in the gritty Roseland streets of the south side Chicago with no father and a hard working mother. At an early age, she showed a strong interest in education that followed her throughout her life. Graduating from NIU with a bachelors degree in Public Health, she embarked on a career in health awareness and education. In 2003, Dopest Dame received her musical calling. Liking it to a whisper from God, she put her pen to a pad and out came a tapestry of words and rhymes that had even her in awe. THE REST WAS HISTORY. Dopest Dame began her rap career under the mantra each one, teach one. Packed full of enlightenment, struggle and swagger, Dopest Dames rhymes became a soundtrack to her life and the lives of others who grew up in the same environment and oppression as she had. With the lyrical prowess of Jay-Z, the swagger of T.I. and the consciousness of Talib Kweli, Dopest Dame quickly became known not only as a dope female rapper, but as a dope MC. Hence, the name.
