DON'T MOVE! is quite possibly the greatest accordion-based, moustache-wearing folk/disco four-piece currently signed to Tin Angel records! But they haven't reached such a position without their fair share of blood, sweat and tears…
DON'T MOVE! began life in a teenaged Mason Le Long's back room when, introduced to him by a mutual friend, Joe Carvell came round armed with his bass, an eighth and a DVD of Team America. Many late-night jams, stoned wig-outs to Love, Can and Ahmad Jamal, and a Spinal Tap-esque string of non-committal drummers later they found Matt Rheeston drumming in a grimy venue above a bar in Birmingham's hip Moseley Village. With the impending release of their debut album, The New Pop Sound Of DON'T MOVE!, they poached Rheeston and recruited pre-war punk accordionist-of-the-apocolypse, Cederick Confuegos to complete the line up.
Although not quite propelling them to the dizzying heights of global recognition the album did gain some critical praise.

"Absolute genius, I urge you to go and see them live." Tom Robinson (BBC 6music)

"Really interesting" Stuart Maconie (BBC Radio 2)

"If the Yardbirds had been one of those shambling 1980s Glasgow bands that Franz Ferdinand worshipped, fronted by John Lennon's better-read little brother, they'd have sounded like this." The Times****

"A fascinating future for DON'T MOVE! lies ahead, judging by this fabulously understated record." The Word

"(DON'T MOVE!) are no Byrds or Beatles rip-off merchants. Instead, their fusion of influences – 60's guitar bands, jingly-jangly 80's indie, bluegrass artists, Burt Bacharach's melodic perfection, as well as the Americana folk inspired by their labelmate and producer, Paul Curreri – has helped to craft a sublime and refreshing guitar pop record for 2009"
."This is a confident and bold debut record from an intriguing and diverse band – Don't Move!'s harmonious old/new pop sound can be nothing short of a winner amongst the banality of most predictable modern 'indie' bands. Please don't move! take note! of this band! " God is in the TV 4/5

"Crammed full of soon-to-be indie floor fillers (The New Pop Sound of) is a remarkable debut that should see DON'T MOVE! Become household names within six months" Rock'n'reel ****
