ALBUM : Dona confuse's 2nd musical concept record, « Ghost Healers' Fascinating Box » is a 45 minute ever lasting questioning. Dona confuse began creative experiments in the early 2009 to disclose 9 tracks with the genuine wish of pushing back boundaries, leading inner discoveries to distil Dona's emotions towards assumed sounds and rhythms. « Ghost Healers' Fascinating Box » crosses mounts and mountains, switches back and forth between rich and sober compositions. When the frequencies of a digital rain was reaching an acid storm, idle tones echoed from the fascinating box as original soundtracks composed by the ghost healers. In situ snapshots of neuronal hustle and bustle, « Ghost Healers' Fascinating Box » wavers between control and reserve, scattering and contraction, sketch and draft.
BAND : Do-it-yourselfer as well as goldsmith of sound, DONA CONFUSE easily fascinates who dares listen to this neuronal agitation and this sound mastering. Either control or reserve, scattering and anarchy, outlines or rough drafts, the « Ghost Healers' Fascinating Box » has been opened by a community of connoisseurs: Le Son Du Maquis will release the album in May while Harmonia Mundi will handle the distribution, who both no longer need an introduction. The quintet keeps paying homage to a 30-year-experience of advanced, introspective and avant-gardist electro-acoustics, drawing on from Pink FLoyd's Ummagumma up to the more recent Radiohead's Kid A. The intention is peaceful, the atmosphere is smooth, the maturity is at the corner house and the friendship is over an ice-cold drink shared near a wheatfield at sunset. DONA CONFUSE can proud on being one of the few to play a genuine electro-rock music, as noble and innovative as it could be, and fulfulling some imaginary embraces which could have come up from Mercury Rev or Autechre. Sweatiness far west, digital rain, continuous backwards and forwards motion, the sound is like an ice cube streaming down the nape of an hot neck. Fascinating indeed.
