DOHRN

DOHRN started in Bloomington,CA on the number streets of Cedar back in 2004 during the Summer. In reality there was some messed up stuff going down in the hood. with the killings, suicides, OD's, gangs, and broken homes. Since that was what we knew, we expressed those frustrations and angst, and pissed off emotions in our songs. This was apparent on a self-made 3 song demo that was recorded on 4 track. "Bible Vision Day" and "Lip service" were among those tracks. We then wrote thirteen more tracks that would become our first self-titled cd released on Ethospine Noise Records. Fifteen tracks in 8 minutes. blistering by with stories of religious hypocrisy, immigration sweeps, gang turf wars, and other local/world happenings that spun our eyes while GW held down the White House.

We went on tour around the U.S. with Rogue State (whom Cisco was playing guitar for at the time). After coming home some things changed in the picture, but we soldiered on. Time ticked by and we continued jamming. This time expanding our songs from 30 seconds to 2 minutes-Which was a big deal to us! We also became a trio, being forced to play and sing! These songs would wind up as our EP opus "Conquest". Self-made and released by us in a zine-styled booklet and pressed approximately 100 for our U.S./East Coast tour with Rogue State. We once again we set out to sing stories of factory pollution/ asthma/ U.S. greed/ and mind oblivion today. "Conquest" was also a nod to the book "Ishmael" by Daniel Quinn. We called it quits in 2010 much the same way we started. a small sweaty show amongst friends. Thanks for the good times.
