Doedelhaie

The Dödelhaie ( The Cock Sharks ) were founded in 1985 from the associated area of German Rock / NDW BAND ZEITZEICHEN; Their first demo Tape "Stolz" was sent to various record companies but no one was interested, only the dubious Rock-O-Rama Label, which also publishes right-wing stuff. So the Dödelhaie published their first LP ( "Des Kanzlers Kadaver" / The chancelors corpse ) themselves.



They founded the Label Music Management Concerts (MMC) and sold their first record through several small Mail-Orders. On some concerts (Like the legendary "Hart und schäbbich Festivals") they got to know the better known Punkbands. A special friendship grew between the sharks and the band Daily Terror. So the sharks got a fix support band for the DTs. This made them known in Germany. During this time they recorded a split EP/MCD "Live in Meran/ Italy".



Then the Dödelhaie published their second LP "Sinfonie des Wahnsinns" (Sinfonies of Madness ) . The Label name was changed in Impact Records, which today is one of the greatest Punklabels Germanys (incl. DT, Toxoplasma, English Dogs, Anti Nowhere League) After their second LP came out as a CD, they started to climb the carrier ladder very fast, and they had to play many concerts.



Their third CD "Spiegelbild" (View in the Mirror) was smashing and the following tour with "Dritte Wahl" did the rest. On this tour Fans asked for songs that both bands thought were long forgotten. So they pressed them on a 10/MCD. By now the Dödelhaie may be one of the most popular German Punkbands. In Middle of 1997 they published their first LP "Des Kanzlers Kadaver" as an CD and as a bonus they packed some Live Gigs and Rehearsals also on the CD. This CD got the unmisunderstandable name "Die Beschissenen Jahre" (which means the Lousy Years).



After a long Studio teetotal it was time for a new project. The CD/LP "Mitternacht" ( Midnight )was recorded and published completely within 12 days. Christmas 1998 the sharks made themselves a present and went into the studio and realized the project "Oi! - It is Deutschpunk". The MCD with 4 cover versions of Oi-Classics ( Cock Sparrer, Cockney Rejects, Angelic Upstarts, Peter & the Test Tube Babies ) got to be a great hit. The Limited Pic.EP was sold out after only 2 months.



In 1999 the Band played a lot of Gigs in Germany, Czech Republic, Swizerland, Austria and in the beginning of 2000, the played in Cuba as the first western punkband.



2003 The Dödelhaie released their best Album so far called "Schätzchen, ich habe das Land befreit ! " ( Darling, I freed the country ) and played gigs all around germany.



2005 was the 20ieth birthday of the band and at the beginning of 2006 they played again in Cuba with their friend of the cuban metalband Tendencia.



Next Releases were the compilation CD "Immer bis zum Sieg" with rare single & compilation tracks & and the live DVD " Schwimm los, wenn du ein Haifisch bist".



In 2010, the 25th anniversary of the band, the new CD/LP "Hai Alarm!" is released, limited picture Vinyl and CD in a Slipcase with free sticker and free t-shirt!!
