Dee Muldrow aka "D. Mawl" was born Daniel Muldrow in Youngstown, OH. At age 5, D.Mawl’s parents took their young son and daughter to Cincinnati, OH where this member of the “Hip-Hop Generation” would be musically influenced by an era of positive, politically motivated artists like Marvin Gaye, Rakim, Nas, Talib Kweli,D'Angelo and artists who, like D.Mawl himself, consider themselves industry rebels with important causes.

D.Mawl is known for his on-edge lyrics laced with folk sentiment. A lyrical genius since adolescences, he considers himself the common man's champion and uses his voice to combat the current oppressive economic system and its creation of the American Ghetto. In his upcoming album, D.Mawl shows this warrior-like spirit in songs like “Take you There.”

D.Mawl used his athletic ability on the football field to open doors on college campuses and ultimately accepted a student athlete scholarship to Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, KY. There, he linked up with group of up and coming artists known as The Nappy Roots. At the time, the group was at the forefront of Deep Rooted Productions (DRP) in Bowling Green, KY.

D.Mawl collaborated with the now Grammy nominated, internationally known, Nappy Roots and was featured on the underground albums, "No Comb, No Brush, No Fade, No Perm" and the Deep Rooted Compilation I&II. He also connected with DRP's R&B group, Klientel, co-writing songs for the 1999 debut, Hoping It Pays.

DRP's dissolution inspired the development of Soul LinQ Productions, of which D.Mawl is a writer and artist. D.Mawl co-wrote and was the featured artist on Klientel’s 2005 release “Daily Trade.” Carlis Phillips, (C.P.) R&B/Soul Solo Vocalist, Adrianne Archie, a rising gospel talent, Cordaco, producer and Joel Goodwin, producer and pianist extraordinaire, comprise the rock solid foundation of Soul LinQ Productions.

D.Mawl’s sophomore project “Eternal Grind” (2007 release) continues to buzz through out the Midwest. This mix tape really answered the question, who is D.Mawl? Through out "Eternal Grind" he speaks out on politics, religion, and of course, the state of Hip Hop.

Also in 2007 Hip Hop artist D.Mawl’s won the KFC Prode 360 Hitmaker contest. The winning single entitled “Sounds Good To Me” was chosen to represent YUM! Brands KFC Pride 360 national promotional campaign from more than 60 entries across the country. The top 10 songs were chosen by the YUM! marketing team with the winner being chosen by voters from across the nation through an Internet voting system.

His latest project "The Lost 16" shows listeners how talented he truly is. This album consist of many Soulful songs with catchy melodic hooks all written and arranged by D.Mawl. His love for true Hip Hop is quite obvious in his delivery and lyrical content. Listeners and industry insiders a like say his music is full of creative content and has the potential for mass appeal. D.Mawl’s commitment to present day causes and social ills are paired with a respect of the same legendary artists who inspired him to create a sound that is fresh, flavorful, and utterly necessary.
