Dj Space was born and raised in Thessaloniki of Greece. He is regarded to be one of the top hip-hop producers and DJs in Greece, while being also active in house-music production. He is specialized more in composing music than just sampling and apart from his main groups (S.M.A. & Filiki Etaireia) he has worked on composure, production, scratching and vocals with most of the top greek hip-hop artists and more.From his childhood, he liked being involved in music. He joined the choir of his school after an audition at the year of 8.During the years 1995-1996 he was having guitar and keybord lessons.
His first contact with music production was in the middle of the year 1996. The year after, Dj Space and Disastah (MC) formed their first group. He created their music composing in an old synthesizer and they recorded the songs in a cassette- recorder.
At the end of the year 1998 the group was given the name: "XLNZ" (X-tra Large Noise Zone). In the year 1999 another MC (Alchimistis) joined the group and their recorded their first studio demo EP. The year after that the group joined the since 1994 famous graffiti crew S.M.A. (Street Magic Art), and was renamed after the crews name. The group was reinforced by another MC “Escape” (the lead MC of a band called “Fatal Strike” ,and also Dj Space's friend since 1987). The concept was 3 mc’ s and one DJ, under the name S.M.A. In early 2002 Escape left the group for personal reasons. In that year the group started recording their first album, while searching for a record label to work with. The group managed to keep it’ s fame up, with live performances allover Greece. In 2005 they signed with an EMI’ s recording label and the album, called “ To Keimilio” (The Heirloom), was finally released, after a large time lag, in 2007. At the same time S.M.A. joined forces with Sifu Versus, Adamandas of Professional Sinners, Sparky T, Diveno and Iso XL, to form the super- group “Filiki Etaireia” (The Friendly Society). They released their first EP in December of the same year. In the year 2008, DJ Space worked, once again exclusively, on the production of S.M.A.’ s second album “Sto Metaksy” (In The Meantime), which was finally released in 2009, right after Alchimistis left the group. In the same year he worked along with other producers in Disastah’ s album “Agapimena Blues” (Beloved Blues), which was released in 2010 and can be considered as an S.M.A. album. Nowadays he’ s back in the lab with Disastah recording the next S.M.A. album.
So far, DJ Space has composed/produced songs for many remarkable artists. He has collaborated with : Daddy Nek, sifu VERSUS, K?µ?? ?, Professional Sinnerz, Bilbas, Freestyle (Arsonists), ??sß???a?, Is????p?st?? (?????), ?????? ???ta (X-NEBMA), Ominus, ????? ?pe???, ???a?, ?a??d?? F????????, ?ypnelia, Iso XL, DJ Whilem (with their foundation of "OSKAR productions" 2004-2006), LST da phunky child (Germany), K Chill and Attack-ES Raps and keep going on.
