Mixing many styles and influences into his production and creation of his music, Q (john Luckenbaugh) has been playing music since 1989. He started by playing the sax and has added Guitar, Bass, Keys, Turntables to his resume.

Q started producing his own music in 1998 when introduced to Fruity Loops and Cool Edit Pro. It didnt take long for him to grasp of production and has moved through several different interfaces since (Acid, Reason, Cakewalk) and now primarily uses Pro Tools for his recording and production.

Always interested in picking up new instruments, Q was introduced to the Turntables by Maurice in 1999 and has dj'd at clubs and venues in Eastern United States. While spinning mostly Hip Hop, Reggae and Downtempo, he has a wide variety of tastes for music as can be seen in his record and cd collection.

Being constantly in the studio, Q, took to Audio Engineering as well and graduated with an engineering degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2002 as well as completing a recording course through Recording Connection at C.A.B. Studios in Ephrata, Pennsylvania in 2005 where he gained valuable knowledge in recording and mixing techniques.

In 2007 Q and CoMpArE formed Altered Essence after recording for several years together. They collectively released "The Rare Specie" and also toured for the album in the summer of 2007. The album is available at online distributors CD Baby, Napster, ITunes, Rhapsody, Amazon and many others.

Recently, Q has completed "Much Higher to Go." with bandmate Matt Aronson (The Sound Fuse). This album is available for free download.

Also, Q has mixing or production credits recently on Civil Mics Movement's We Shall Overcome Mixtape (2007), S.Carter's Soul Sessions Vol. 1 (2007), Ridiculous Reeplay's "Come With Me" (2007), Crew 54's "Middle Road" (2007) and Kahli's Grind Theory (2008).

Along with Sound Fuse and Altered Essence, Q is currently working on a few more collaboration projects with Maurice and Kahli to be released in the near future.
