Mo-Laudi is a pioneering DJ/MC with a style that is years ahead of the game. Mixing up ethnic/tropical vibes with his unique combination of electro and lyricism, his groundbreaking performances have taken him across the globe bringing his eclectic musical mixture to grateful party-goers everywhere.
Aside from performing live, supporting artists from the legendary Roy Ayers and Miriam Makeba to Franz Ferdinand, Diplo, Kid Cudi, Erol Alkan, Brodinski, Yusek, Fatboy slim, 2 Many DJs, Miss Kitten, Mo DJ, Blaqstarr and many more at Festivals and club events worldwide; Mo-laudi has also collaborated with numerous modern day musical heroes such as Damon Albarn, Kano, Hard-Fi and Flea of The Red Hot Chilli Peppers at Africa Express '08.
No stranger to the studio, Mo-laudi has been a part of several musical projects including "Weapons" which saw him working with prestigious engineers and producers including Damian Taylor (Prodigy/Bjork/U.N.K.L.E.) and Graeme Stewart (Radiohead, Amnesiac/Hail to the thief).
The project gave Mo-laudi much appreciated exposure, taking him to Texas in 2004 to perform at the SXSW festival. Selected by Music Week alongside Franz Ferdinand and The Hives as one of the buzz bands of the week, Weapons were subsequently invited to record a radio 1 session for Beth & Huw.
Following on from a successful, critically acclaimed single release in the form of "Terrorist Youth", on indie label American Blood, Weapons graced the airwaves with widespread play including the evening sessions of Zane Lowe, Steve Lamacq and XFM's Ian Camfield. Weapons finished the year as part of Radio 1's "In New Music We Trust Tour" taking their fresh, innovative sound to audiences across the UK.
Since the release of their debut, self-titled album in 2006, Mo-laudi has returned to his live performance duties, touring across Europe and the US and holding residencies in the musical melting pot of London's club scene.
Also a long time collaborator with Radioclit, the producers behind beats for Santogold and M.I.A., Mo-laudi is the official MC of the current Radioclit world tour. Aside from their production for cutting edge artists, Radioclit's work with Mo-laudi has also been remixed by house and afrobeat innovators; Crookers, Rivastarr and Brodinski.
Always eager to help new talent, Mo-laudi began to bring South African artists including Oskido, DJ Cleo, Vinnie da Vinci, Christos, Mahoota and loads more to the UK to perform at his events. It was at one of his events that DJ Cleo was first spotted and signed to a UK label.
Now in 2009, Mo-Laudi is set to take to the road once more, be sure not to miss his genre crossing blend of beats at an event near you.
