In 1997 G. Child started his career as a DJ on pirate radio in Birmingham.  Wanting to do more than rock parties and the air waves, he became a Midlands representative for the Sony Street Team and interviewed Mariah Carey, Jill Scott, Wyclef and Destiny's Child to name but a few.  G. Child became a sought after DJ around Birmingham, he organised Destiny's Child’s tour after party, which was a complete road block!  Around the same time he also took part in the Channel 4 ‘Flava’ DJ competition where he reached the finals.  His mixing skills also led him to contributing mixes for commercial station - Galaxy 102.2FM in Birmingham.

In 2001 G. Child joined Def Jam’s UK Street Team and this is where things really started taking off: within 2 months he had interviewed Ja Rule, Ashanti, Caddillac Tah and Christina Milian!  Soon after he joined the ranks on the then new BBC Radio 1Xtra where he continues to present his r’n’b show ‘The Refix’ every Friday night from 12pm till 2am.  Playing his ‘refixes’ – a unique style of back to back mixing and matching acapellas with instrumentals - this is a must hear!  He’s also presented shows on Radio 1 and produced guest mixes for Trevor Nelson and Dave Pearce's Radio 1 shows.

As well as success on air and in clubs in the UK, G. Child has made a name for himself as an international DJ, Djing throughout Europe, Egypt, Shanghai, Thailand and bought in the New Year in China in 2005.  This summer he had a residency in Ayia Napa at the Castle Club.

To showcase UK talent, G. Child co-hosted 1Xtra’s first ever UK RnB Showcase, where 12 of the UK’s finest r’n’b acts performed on one stage in one night!  To further support UK artists, G. Child with 2Funky Records released ‘UK Fix’ - an r’n’b compilation highlighting the best signed and unsigned RnB artists from around the UK.

Having supported Kanye West, Timbaland, Nelly, Fat Man Scoop, Ja Rule and Christina Milian on tour, G Child is no stranger to mixing for the stars, he has also produced a mix CD for Def Jam UK that was hosted by Tim Westwood and a mix CD to showcase NeYo’s debut album.  G. Child continues to develop his career and last year formed production duo ‘Reaver’.  They have had a very successful year remixing for the likes of Rihanna, Ciara, Bobby Valentino, Mims and Sean Kingston.

In 2008 and beyond, G. Child will continue to do production work and work more closely with artists as well as take his DJ skills worldwide.
