Finatik Biography

Having grown up around music and vinyl records in the eighties, it was inevitable Michael Mule,

known to many as Finatik would take an interest in the art of DJing. Officially inspired at the age of

twelve by seeing the legendary DJ Mix Master Mike in the flesh, Finatik finally earned enough money to buy his first DJ set by working hard in his parents’ café.

It wasn’t long before the dedicated turntablist had mastered the craft and at just fourteen years of age he began entering battles. His first competition landed him third place in the Western Australian heats of the DMC Battles.

Still not convinced of his own talent and determined to succeed, a year later Finatik took out the first place position in the WA heats, and fourth place in the National finals. He then went on to become the Australian State ITF Champion and Quicksilver State DJ Champion, as well as landing second place in the Australian DMC Finals.

This cemented the teen as a non-stop force behind the decks and an upcoming talent in the worlds of hip hop and DJing. One year and much media attention later his talent was noticed when Finatik gained a sponsorship deal with Ecko Clothing and aligned forces with the well-known Turntable Jediz, which has now led to exposure both interstate and overseas.

All this, at the age of fifteen.

With constant hard work and dedication, Finatik started hosting his own hip hop radio show

Underground Airplay with fellow Perth DJ Blade. It soon became so popular that it led to many high-profile performances and professional relationships, including his current partnership with founder and C.E.O of Stadium Music, Trac.

By the time Finatik had reached eighteen, he had accomplished what most high school students had only dreamed of, and had acquainted himself with some of hip hop’s biggest names. Finatik had been requested to play support for such touring acts as Method Man & Redman, The Black Eyed Peas,

DJ Premier, Afrika Bambaata, Jazzy Jay, The Pharcyde, Jurassic 5, Roc Raida, DJ Craze, Q-Bert, and the man that started it all for him, Mix Master Mike.

During this time, Finatik continued to broaden his skills and decided that he wanted to be more

involved in creating and developing the beats that he had become so used to playing on the decks

weekly at resident nightclubs (which have included Metropolis Fremantle, Metro City Superclub, The Ruby Room Burswood Casino and The Harbourside).

At nineteen his partner in crime, Trac, envisaged a power-house producer in Finatik and began to shop his beats to various artist managers in the US.

He eventually stumbled on Miami’s super-producer Jim Jonsin who is known for his work with Sean Paul, Danity Kane, Pitbull and Jamie Foxx. Jonsin, at the time of talking with Finatik, was in the process of building his own label Rebel Rock Entertainment, which is now affiliated with major record label

Atlantic Records. 2007 has so far proved to be a major year for Finatik, as this networking has led to him being offered the amazing opportunity to officially produce for the label, with Jonsin taking a liking to the fresh sound that the youngster has been creating.

With such an impressive resume and a wealth of experience to back him up (all at the age of just

twenty), it is only a matter of time before Finatik continues to pave the way for a massively successful career….
