DJ EV, Eric Vajda, is a dj extraordinaire, local master planner, and also the creator of popular local mix series, “Bi$h, I’m From Cleveland.” Without a doubt, one of the hardest working DJs in the city, EV is a big supporter of the local music scene and one of the DJs that every local artist should know. Here’s EV. Tell us about yourself? What do you do for a living? I’m a full time club, mix tape & radio dj. I’m also a Film/Video editor working with short films and movie trailers. What are your top 3 favorite local songs right now? Kid Cudi – Day-N-Nite (Crookers Remix) Chip Tha Ripper – Babyman The KickDrums – Love Is A Drug Which local artist is the next to blow? Who has the most potential? Kid Cudi and Chip Tha Ripper are next. Cudi just joined Kanye’s Record Label (GOOD Music) which is a big deal and Chip just got sponsored DC Shoes. They both have the potential to do big thing’s in the music industry. If you could change anything about Cleveland what would it be? How the clubs and promoters cater to one race only (whether its techno/pop on west 6th or HipHop/RnB on west 9th) just one example. When I dj out of town it’s always mixed and they rock out to all the music I play. The only parties in Cleveland that I see like this are The Potluck at B-Side and “I Got 5 on It.” That’s only 2 nights a month, not good. Favorite local spot to eat at? My new spot is FIVE Guys. The best after the club spot is My Friends on Detroit. Cavs or Browns? Cavs and The Tribe. What’s next for DJ E-V? Plug your next project. I’m starting my Video Production company EVision Ent.
