In 1997 after listening to a "Loose Caboose" mix tape by DJ Dan, it inspired her to create her own unique blend of funky booty shaking house, funky old school electro break beats, and hip-hop. Eight months after she first touched a pair of turntables, she got booked to play at X.O.X. 2 at the infamous 2nd and Jackson. She opened up in the small room and it was a great honor for her to be spinning at the same party as Frankie Bones, Jim Hopkins, Tony, Simon, Rinse, Flux, and more. She then began spinning regularly at a free Sunday afternoon outdoor party called Beatdown Sundaze and helped them throw Bass Freakers 1 & 2.

In 2001 Elz entered her mix tape "Breakaway" into the best new DJ contest on the Friday night radio show House Nation (94.9 FM) and won! She became their new resident, and also won a guest appearance on the main stage at Coolworld's Cyberfest in SF and in Texas. She has since been rocking it all over at such events/places as Ruby Skye, 1015 Folsom, Sno-Drift, Kelly's Mission Rock, Hotel Ibiza, Club 6, Mixed Element's Heroine, Clockwork Eventz, VG events, House Nation events, Sister SF events, Thump Radio's Atomic, Future Friday's Girl Power, Feelgood's MeggaBuzz and Love Affair, Jive Tribe's BUMP and Warehouse in San Luis Obispo, Movement and Pure in San Diego, Balance in Seattle, The Biltmore Casino in Reno, Delta Funk parties, Love Parade SF 06 & 07, and Club Ra in Vegas. She has also made guest appearances on such radio stations as Wild 94.9 FM and Energy 92.7 FM in San Francisco, VIVA 107.1 FM in Los Angeles, KSJS 90.5 FM in San Jose, KZSU Stanford, and KHDC 90.9 FM in Salinas. As well as on-line at Livedjs.com, the Sister SF anti-radio show, Groovetech.com, Bayraves.com, SFUnderground.com, Deciblast.org, and Groovefactory.com. She has played along side such greats as Sneak, Donald Glaude, Onionz, Frankie Bones, Dirty Vegas, Uberzone, Crystal Method, DJ Colette, Terry Francis, Josh "the Funky 1", David Coleman and Sensi, and Richard Humpty Vission just to name a few.

In 2003 she entered her CD "Breakadawn" into the 92.7 Party FM Dj Showcase contest and became 1 of 4 finalist to compete at the finals at 1015 Folsom in San Francisco and came in 2nd Place. Elz soon joined forces with the amazingly talented Audio Angel. On the live tip, Audio Angel layers her voice with the music so well, people often question whether the vocals they hear are live or already on the tracks. A colaboration breaks and house CD with Elz and Audio Angel is now available called "Funk Rocker".

Currently she is sponsored by Mixer Friendly Clothing, which has its line sold at TRUE stores and The Triple Five Soul store in NYC. She also has done promotions for Puma retail stores and Odyssey DJ Gear. 2007 brought a colaboration with Delta Funk vocalist Elise to create an album of original music and a new residency with the infamous SF crew GREEN GORILLA LOUNGE. Elz and Elise's original track SOUL POWER was also picked up for the TEST PRESS compilation CD TEST PRESS.02 on Epiphyte Records after winning 2nd place in their annual original track contest in 2008. Shortly after in March 2008 Elz graduated Ex'pression College with a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Sound Arts. She was then selected to be Dj Shadow's intern for the summer. She assisted in preparation for the launch of DJ Shadow Digital (The DJ Shadow Digital Store), myspace management, web store management, and processed sound samples for the Dj Shadow digital store.

In 2009 Elz and Denise released their remix track GET BACK INTO THE GROOVE AGAIN on Muzimo Records and soon after Elz and Elise's original track USELESS was selected to be on the 2009 Test Press compilation TEST PRESS.03. This brought Elz and Elise to come together with international DJ/Producers David Harness (judge for Test Press 09) and Chris Lum (judge for Test Press 08) and join their new label HARLUM MUSIQ out of Moultan Studios in San Francisco which will soon be releasing SOUL POWER with remixes by Harness and Lum in the summer of 2009. Keep yo ear to tha ground

It's all about being with GOOD FRIENDS listening to GOOD FUCKING MUSIC, i really believe music is the language of my soul, music is my way of life and love.I have the best group of friends and the most supportive loving family EVER and i feel blessedmy life is about spreading that love and happiness through my music with karma, honesty, being humble, respect, loyalty and devotion.if you are trying to fake the funk and are only a phoney perpetrator - karma will only come to bite you really hard in your big ugly ass, don't think that shit won't catch up to you because it always finds a way to hit you hard where it hurts the most.i just let the music speak for itself.stop imagining how things would be 'if only.' pay attention to the here and now! that's where the real rewards are. train your awareness to focus on the present, and you'll see just how good your life really is.
