Biograafia



DJ Critikal on vaieldamatult number üks hiphop dj ja produtsent Eestis.Tema karjäär algas aastal 1996, kui loodi rühmitus North Crew, kes asus ajama räpiasju Tallinna linnas. Umbes samal ajal valmisid ka esimesed biidid.

Tema teenuseid on kasutanud kogu Eesti hiphop scene. Alates kuulsast A-Rühmast ja Cool D-st lõpetades selliste radikaalsete tegelastega nagu K-Ghetto.



Kasutades instrumendina sämplerit ja plaadimängijaid on Critikal tegev sellistes muusikalistes kollektiivides

nagu: A-Rühm, Cool D ning drum&bass projekt Critikal & S.I.N. Critikal on korraldajaks ja resident dj-ks üritustel Check One Two ning resident dj üritusel Hip Hop Café. Lisaks teeb kriitiline mees iganädalst hiphop saadet Raadio2-s ja on üks hiphop.ee portaali asutajatest.

Dj Critikal is without a doubt number 1 hiphop Dj and Producer in Estonia. Nominated for the best male artist of year 2007 at Estonian Music Awards.



His dj career started in 1996 with North Crew (hiphop culture movement in Estonia) when he and few friends of his started to organize different basement parties and hiphop community gatherings in Tallinn. Playing music mostly on cassets and makein music on PC 486 where the good old days of estonian rap scene.



He is now having residency in montly happening partys (Play @ club Balou), (Check One, Two @ Von Krahl) and HipHop Cafe @ club Hollywood (most known and biggest hiphop party in Estonia). Having some time off from studio and local clubs he has also been playing at different clubs and festivals around the world: Lithuania, Latvia, Russia, Finland, Sweden, India and USA. As most locals know him as the best hiphop/rnb Dj then depending on a party he also likes to spin a lot of disco, funk, baltimore, bailefunc, kuduro and dubstep. He has been supporting artist for Grand Master Flash, Royce Da 59, Dj Premier, Pete Rock, Alkaholics, Jeru the Damaja, Camp Lo, Afu-Ra, Dj Craze, Scratch Perverts, Rahzel, Big Shug, Ty, LoopTroop, and many more).



As well as being hiphop dj he has also produced drum’nbass from year 1997. "Beat Physics" 1999 and "Check 101" 2001 with dj S.I.N. were the first official album releases of Critikal's Jungle sound. For now theres been dozens of Estonian and Finnish artists who have used his beat production, cuts and remixes. He is main producer for estonias grandold man Cool D (best male artist of the year 2005, 2006 Eestonian Music Awards) and A-rühm where he is the backbone of the band takein care of beats and breaks. His latest project is electro-pop-kosmos sounding HU? (best Group, best Newcomer, best Album at EMA 2009). As a scratch dj he's been also involved in different funk, jazz and experimental projects such as: Holmes and Maryn E. Coote aka. Marju Marynel Kuut.



In importnt year for Critikal 2004 he formed MindNote Records. Wich is the first Estonian recordlabel to release Estonian hiphop. Until now theres released 15 different albums, compilations and over 40 singles.



He is also radio host in Estonian Public Broadcasting RAADIO 2(www.r2.ee), where he runs the weekly hiphop show "Programm"and mixshow “Programm Extra” with Paul Oja and dj Quest.



Wait for his thisyears new project and solo album, coming at fall 2009.
