Born a Gemini & raised in Sacramento , California , Dj Charlie Ramos' career started out as a b-boy, juggling records in the garage trying to make that perfect routine tape. As the break dancing era began to fade, dj'ing and music started to takeover his veins.
In 1984, Dj Charlie Ramos took his hobby to the next level by appearing at garage parties, observing other djs, and practicing everyday. At the age of 12, Charlie joined a DJ group that was astounded by his skill, named Hi-Tech Sounds, which consisted of 2 other DJ's: Ed dy Ed & Mix Master Mike (Beastie Boys).
After establishing the basic skills, his interest and dedication grew instantly. Dj Charlie Ramos appeared at several car shows & public dance events and word began to spread across the community. His peers voluntarily entered him into a DJ competition as a friendly joke which led up to the winning of several Dj titles for Northern California State Championships during 1989 through 1991. Dj Charlie Ramos then formed a mobile dj group of his own that is still currently in progress and what has turned out to become his way of life, known as "HIGH INTENSITY SOUNDS".
While pursuing his "Batman Job" Drafting/Engineering career, he was offered to display his skills at a local A.M. radio station (KJAY). For about a year, Dj Charlie Ramos directed and produced his own non-stop mix show that included all genres of music. Finally in 1994, a giant corporate radio station (CBS) discovered him, Sacramento 's own KSFM 102.5. Currently, he holds the recognition of being the longest–tenured main dj/mixer of the station. He was named SCION 2007 west coast dj of the year for the IMEEM beat tour contest and has opened up for artists from Grammy awards winners LL Cool J, Ludacris and Ashanti to cult classic artist like Nas, Too Short, Egyptian Lover, Cover Girls and Sir Mix A Lot, to name a few. Dj Charlie Ramos is featured on the morning show (Which can be heard Monday-Friday from 7:30 - 8:10a.m & is on-air till 10:00am.) which has become recognized worldwide and he has continued to become a household name.
