BIO
Born and raised in Vallejo, California, DJ Champino was brought
up in a musical environment where the sounds of his father's drums,
trumpet, bass and acoustic guitar playing enveloped his home and
fostered his passionate ear for music. He came across his first turntables in 1998 and collected
records for several years before he started seriously DJ'ing in 2001,
when he started rocking house parties and school rallies as DJ
Champino.
DJ Champino held his first residency in 2005 at Paradise 33 in
Concord, California, where he made an important impression on his
audiences as well as on Rick Lee and SBC DJ's (Style Beyond Compare DJs) in 2006. Soon after, DJ Champino joined SBC DJ's
through 2008 before helping to establish his current DJ entertainment
group called Against the Grain along with DJ Ant, DJ 5150, and DJ
Cuhja. Aside from his present work with Against the Grain, DJ Champino
also spends his time as the official DJ for 594 Apparel
(594apparel.com), and has recently collaborated with the well-known
singing sensations Danity Kane in creating his latest mixtape,
Sucka4Love. The future for DJ Champino promises further success as
he rocks crowds from The Bay Area, to Hollywood, to Vegas and BEEEEYOOOOOND!!
