Diva Gash is Bogotá, Colombia's fresh indie sensation that reinvents popular musical elements from the 70s and 80s. With their diverse blend of funk, soul, Latin "Tumbaos", dance and disco, Diva Gash creates an infectious sound wave composed of electronic beats, avant-garde rock, trash metal riffs and hip-hop flavor. Their innovative mixture of unique melodies and witty lyrics come together to form a distinctive trademark that hypnotizes any listener. DG debuted on Colombian radio stations in 1997 with Into Time, followed by a second EP, Back but Forward. For their album Pulso, they collaborated with Ion who recorded the original soundtrack of the Colombian movie Diastole y Sistole in 1999. Their first full-length album "Sequence" was released in Colombia in 2000 and in Venezuela, Mexico and the U.S. shortly thereafter. It is the recording that defined their sound, style direction and musical path. Volumen 1 was recorded in Mexico, Colombia, and Venezuela in 2004 with well known artists Alejandro Rosso, Belica, Hana Kobayashi, DJ Hernia and 3 Dueños, formerly Vagos y Maleantes. The album was released in July of the following year. In 2005, Diva Gash performed with top international bands originating from Venezuela, Colombia and France. They also participated in the Electronic Latin Freaks release from Subterfuge Records, which was compiled in Europe to honor the best Latin American electronic artists. Diva Gash promoted Volumen 1 by rocking various stages, including the PREMIOS MTV Latino's Official Party, the Miami Short Film Festival Opening Event and "Rock al Parque," the biggest festival in South America. Later that year, Diva Gash released the single Galacticock in Colombia and Venezuela while simultaneously working on their second video for Starmaster, which topped MTVLA's charts for 29 weeks. Today, DG is the only official Adidas artist in Colombia and they have also established commercial alliances with Motorola, Johnny Walker and Microsoft XBOX 360. Diva Gash's highly anticipated third album, 2 Luv, produced by Joel Hamilton, will début in Colombia February 2009. Diva Gash will be making their official appearance at the world-renowned South by Southwest Festival and will make sweet, sweet love to your eardrums at the 13th Annual Captiva Showcase in Austin that week.
