Myke, Loki, and Ray still wanted to play together after Che and Carlos left Close Call in the fall of 1994. They recuited Cesar Ramirez & Todd Hamilton (WarZone) on guitars and District 9 was born.

The District 9 set consisted of several Close Call songs along with new material that the band had been writing (with a contribution from Frank Villalona of Without A Cause/Fahrenheit 451 entitled "Payback"). 5 of these songs were recorded at Big Blue Meenie Recording Studio in February of 1995. One appeared on the "It’s All Good" compilation (SFT Records - 1995) and the other four were released as the "SCHOOLAHARDKNOX" ep (also on SFT Records - 1995).

The band played many shows around the New York area at places such as Coney Island High, Wetlands, and Mullaly Park, occasionally travelling out-of-state. 2 songs ("Fool" and "Victim" from a District 9 set at Coney Island High were filmed for a documentary on New York hardcore also featuring Madball, Crown of Thornz, No Redeeming Social Value, 108, Vision of Disorder, and 25 ta Life (Velebit Productions - released sometime in ’99).

Around the end of 1995 District 9 went through a "domino effect" of lineup changes beginning with Loki’s abrubt departure. Ray soon followed to join Fahrenheit 451 and Cesar left to join The Skills. While Todd was on tour with WarZone in early 1995, Kevin Smith (Fahrenheit 451) filled in on bass for 1 or 2 shows along with Ray and Cesar. Enter Dray Lockdown (No Redeeming Social Value/WarZone) on bass, Gary Muttley on Guitar, and Lou Medina (Breakdown/Cold Front) on drums. This lineup lasted until the beginning of 1997 where the band gradually lost momentum and remained that way until early 1998 when Cesar joined back up with Myke, Todd (now on bass), and a new drummer by the name of Al DelBueno to record "Addicts" for Creepy Crawl’s "Brotherhood of the Antigood compilation". District 9 played a few shows throughout the rest of the year until Myke joined Skarhead and Todd joined Vision, both bands with plans to tour extensively.

District 9 reformed again in 2001 with Lenny Bednarz (guitar) and Kevin Smith (bass) from Fahrenheit 451 and Pete LaRussa of No Redeeming Social Value (drums) to join Myke and Cesar for a show at Castle Heights. As a result of Myke joining BillyClub Sandwich on stage at the Superbowl of Hardcore ’05 to perform "Payback", the band was requested to play at the event the next year and gladly acceptedThis brings us to the present
