Dirty Treats

Long time Friends,Musicans and Dj's Ill Treats and Dirty Hairy have been dabbling in music,beats and hip hop since 1996keepin it strictly vinyl and samplers.

Although Jay Dee DIDN'T change their lives they do respect his use of drum sounds and of swing on the Mpc.

After a 6 year stint of being at opposite ends of the country and for a short while the globe, they finally reunited in 2006.They lived together on Brighton seafront for 2 years converting their living quarters into a large studio combining equipment,records, ideas and producing together.In that time they archieved alot of music and pushed it around the world for hungry, hardworkin emcees,mixtapes and radio stations.In a recent turn of events Dirty boxed up as much vinyl as he could along with the mpc's, and set up studio out in Zagreb(Croatia)with a view to further marinade the Dirty Treats recipies among new listeners and comence regularly Dj'ing.They both continue to study hip hop and production techniques.

Dirty Treats like their heros will often fall into the comfort of a nice loop and some heavy drums, but the focus has always been to make what they do musical and melodic,which is often a conversion tool for bringing in non hip hop listeners but in essence really just how they think.

Treats comes packaged as the horn man diggin out some of the freshest lines,runs and soulful drags recorded to disk!!he can engineer a track for sure and the kid likes his 12" pellas!

Dirty, builds the drums and samples up from a clever accurate ear of listenin in the space of music you wouldnt dare sample, and also using subtle patterns on kit.

They learn from each other, and in solo work the influence of each other is very apparent, although their own personalities are dominant within.

You wont find them doing beats for internet emcees,So dont waste your time emailing, and you wont catch them sampling drum breaks or records pete rock and premier sampled. that stuff is for the kidsThey also dont use ' breaks' , or ' diggin' websites in an attempt create music.They use their knowledge and experience of music,musicans,labels,and producers.
