Dilatazione is a project born in Italy in 1999 like a trio of instrumental, cinephile rock. From the beginning they have been integrating their live concerts with a video show. In three years Dilatazione played one hundred concerts cross Italy. In 2002 their third demo, "Fotogrammi", got good reviews on italian newspapers and specialistic fanzine. In 2003 a new guitarist,Mirko Bertolucci, joined the group. Dilatazione's first album, "Too emotional for maths" was recorded and mixed in september 2005 at Alpha Dept Studio in Bologna by Amaury Cambuzat (Ulan Bator/ Faust) and Francesco Donadello (Giardini di Miro'). The new album,"The Importance of Maracas in the Modern Age" produced by Paolo Benvegnù, will be released in september 2010. The dreamy and languishing atmosphere of the debut album are almost totally disappeared. With "The importance of Maracas in the Modern Age", Dilatazione definitely turn the page , looking at reality and today's Italy right in the face. It's irony the lecture key of an album that mixs high and low culture, Kraftwerk and Bettino Craxi, Glauber Rocha and b-movies, Tortoise and Bee Gees, Justin Timberlake and Morricone, the darkest funk and the kitchest electro. "The Importance of Maracas in the Modern Age" is a Zappa melting-pot played by some punkers, it's an entertained album, "cazzone" and disparate, that look back to the past and towards the future, finding an original and outside of time way.The line-up for the live shows will be enlarged with the new entry Federico Meoni.STAY TUNED !!!
