Derek DaPrano

Derek DaPrano’s love of music began when his grandmother gave him his first KISS album. He grew up in a household of various styles of music. From Motown to Rock and everything in between that had crossed his ears. The love affair solidified when he picked up a guitar. With influences like Gene Simmons, Nikki Sixx, Jason Newsted, Rachel Bolan, and so many others, DaPrano was destined to become a bassist. The rest is history.



Originally from Utica, New York and after enlistment in the United States Army, DaPrano settled in Nashville. He quickly established his name and talent in the local rock scene, which had earned him a nomination for "Bassist of the year" in 2009 at the Buzz Awards. He has also shared the stage with many great musicians throughout his career.



DaPrano has played with the bands Shortwyck, Dark Realm, Tantrum, Fuse, Undisclosed, Hollowed Soul, Red40, Deadsun and Beautifully Crude. Amongst spending time with his family, in his spare time he writes, records and jams with friends.



“Life and the love and passion for music, my daughter, family, and God are my driving forces,” DaPrano said. “So I’m in this game until I get that golden ticket to walk through the gates of a record deal…”
