Den Saakaldte was born back in May of 2006. The project started as a "one man band" project, by Sykelig.
Sykelig recorded the first two songs in Hellas and after thai, relocated once and for good to Norway. There, Sykelig joined forces with Jormungand-keys (DHG), Seidemann-bass (1349, Pantheon I) and Niklas Kvarforth (Shining, sweden). The drums back then were performed by the talented musician, S.Winter (ex-Aeternus, ex-Gehenna).
Den Saakaldte re-recorded in Oslo & Stavanger, in actual basements, and mixed the material that was entitled "Øl, Mørke og Depresjon" and got released as a professional limited edition release, from the Italian label, Eerie Art Records. One month after the release, the band performed for the first time live, by headlining at the Inferno Festival 2008 in Norway, delivering a mystical and bizzare setlist. The band received positive feedback from the fans and the press and the first contacts with rekord labels, started.
In the summer of 2008, Jarle aka Uruz takes the place behind the drumkit and by the same time, Den Saakaldte signs with Avantgarde Music. The title for the debut album gets revealed in the words of "All Hail Pessimism". A title that is rather self-sarcastic, than an actual statement (to whomever it may concern.).
In Autumn of 2008, the split EP Shining/Den Saakaldte gets released by Temple Of Darkness Records. A limited to 1000 copies release, in gatefold and picture disc, with live material from both bands. This release gets pretty soon, a sold-out release.
With the beginning of the year 2009, Den Saakaldte gets confirmed for headlining the Inferno Festival kick off this time, and for performing at the Party San Open Air Festival in Germany. In February the album "All Hail Pessimism" gets released by Avantgarde Music and Den Saakaldte gets great feedback for their live performance at the Inferno Festival kick off.
The press embraced with great reviews and ratings Den Saakaldte's "All Hail Pessimism". People started identifying themselves in Den Saakaldte's music, and the first officially approved Supporters Club, gets established by a greek and french team of people.
The band performs live in August of 2009 at Party San Open Air Festival in Germany, in front of 15000 people and along with great names of the scene, and gets great reviews worldwide for their performance.
The good reviews the band got for their debut album "All Hail Pessimism" and for their live performances, gained them a contract with the most uprising rekord label of the present time, Pulverised Records.
Den Saakaldte signs a record deal With Pulverised Records for 2 albums.
