After the international Success of Electric Chubbyland Popa hits hard with sheer power and raw blues rock anthems in this 13 track release due out on Dixiefrog on Oct. 15th.



Searing guitars meet melodic hooks on a thunderous backbeat. The title track (« Deliveries After Dark ») evokes shades of AC/DC while the anthemic « Let The Music Set You Free » rocks Zeppelesque with its Bonham like beat and layered guitars. The Motown like « Sally Likes To Run » is a track Popa wrote about his beloved 1971 Ford Mustang Fastback. It evokes an era of reckless abandon that is prominent throughout the record. The spacey and evocative « Woman In My Bed Dub » is straight outa Kingston and the smoke is thick as the dub mix.



Popa Chubby's legacy speaks for itself and the innovative Genre Busting New Yorker has set forth to make his masterpiece. Après le succès international d’Electric Chubbyland, Popa Chubby nous revient en force avec un hymne blues-rock bien saignant. Un album truffé de titres hard-blues baignés de funk que Popa nous livre tout chauds, bien assaisonnés de guitares qui miaulent et de rythmiques propres à ébranler le système nerveux.



La chanson-titre « Deliveries After Dark » rappelle AC/DC tandis que « Let The Music Set You Free » nous emmène du côté de Led Zeppelin avec sa batterie à la John Bonham et ses couches de guitares superposées. « Sally Likes To Run » est un titre à la Motown, que Chubby a écrit pour sa voiture adorée, une Mustang 1971 Fastback. Cette chanson, à l’instar du reste de l’album, évoque une époque de frénésie insouciante que ne dépare pas le Dub planant de « Woman in My Bed », sorti tout droit de Kingston dans un nuage de fumée aussi épais que le mix.



L’héritage musical de Popa Chubby est clair et ce pionnier new-yorkais, qui défie les classifications, vient de signer là l’un de ses albums majeurs. Du fond de son studio de New York, Popa nous déclare : « tous les artistes racontent la même chose, c’est le meilleur album que j’ai enregistré. Et ben, moi, je vais pas vous baratiner.
