After years of hard work and dedication, DNA has stepped out of the shadows into the spotlight. Born Dana Louis ., is the oldest of eight children and was raised in a single parent home in Upstate, New York. By guidance of his mother, DNA used music as a vessel to soothe his soul and has been inspired by the likes of Stevie Wonder and Norman Whitfield. Trained in The Academy for Visual and Performing Arts, DNA honed his style and developed techniques that allowed him to move forward in his career. In the early days, he took the stage solo, opening for chart topping artists like Bobby Brown and Keith Sweat. After mastering the percussion, he stepped out on faith with the vast encouragement of family and friends and moved to Los Angeles to pursue his career. DNA spent years developing his rich and unique sound. This sound reached many, and as he performed background vocals touring with for R&B mainstays Jon B. and K-C and JoJo, he went on to appear on the “Tonight Show” with Angie Stone. DNA's talent has not gone unnoticed, through hard work and dedication he’s had the opportunity to record with nine time Grammy Award winning artist Andrae Crouch on 2 different projects, "The Gift of Christmas" and "Mighty Wind" and also with multi-platinum recording artist Keyshia Cole, "A Different Me" where he co-wrote and co-produced. His percussion skills afforded him the opportunity to perform as a drummer with some impressive artists, including Malcom Jamal Warner and Olie Woodson, in addition to previously mentioned artist. He credits R&B singer Joe, Fred Hammond and Lionel Richie for stimulating his desire to further his singing career. Currently DNA performs in Sherman Oaks, CA. In this free form performance space, DNA has the ability to showcase his drumming, singing and other musical talents. With his distinctive style, DNA strives to have his personality shine through his music. Dedicated to having a positive vibe, he believes music should be genuine, real and from the soul. His creative spirit has kept him progressively dreaming of having his own record. Working with various accomplished producers, DNA has created a sincere compilation of experiences aptly titled “Keep it Real”, which will be released as a single on the album. Ready to make his impeccable mark on the music industry, blessed with writing and vocal skills, DNA is only at the beginning of what he has to offer.
