BLACK AND GOLD
was a five piece, aggressive, energetic, and motivational punk band from the streets of Long Beach composed of Brian Zuñiga (vocals), George Romano (guitar), Manny (drums),Regan Cacho (guitar), Melvin Trinidad (bass). Starting out in 2001, Defied has been transforming sounds of raw traditional punk rock into a unique and abstract mix of punk and metal. This has proven to be particularly true with the addition of Regan in 2003, coming from a background of punk and metal. With Regan's mix of metal harmonies combined with the punk and UK82 sound of the rest of the band, Defied has created a new form of punk rock that has been making people think twice about what they are hearing. Some have compared the style of music as to those of early Unseen, Krum Bums, Casualties, and Dropkick Murphys.
Defied has shared the stage with bands like Blitz, Funeral Dress, The Ghouls, Time Again, The Havoc, Decry, The Skulls, Union 13, Orange, Static Thought, MDC, The Krum Bums, Left Alone, Resilience, The Voids, Narcoleptic Youth, The Scarred, and many many more. Defied also have their own self titled, and self released EP which has been out since January 2007 which has been regularly played on radio shows such as "Mohawk Radio" and "The Punk Rock Demonstration".
The band released their newest E.P. in 2007, which can be found on INTERPUNK.COM, MOHAWKRADIO.COM AND DOWNLOADPUNK.COM - WIKIPEDIA.COMThey have disbanded in January 2008. Future projects are expected from former members.
1/24/08DEFIED CALLS IT QUITS
Due to personal reasons, members of defied decided to leave the band. So staying true to the 7 years of unchanged original line-up, the remaining members have decided to put the name DEFIED to rest as well. We will have ONE LAST SHOW coming soon. It will be announced as soon as it is booked.

To all the people who ever opened their door to us when we need a place to crash.Our only regret is not being able to perform for those who wanted us to come to their city and to all the bands that wanted to play along side us.But through the years we've shared the stage with many great bands, met many more great people, and partied the whole way through.
