BEHIND THE BRUTALITY In early 2000, an event transpired which would change the face of music, art, science, sports, geography, and politcs in one fell swoop. Two individuals would meet and forever inscribe their mark on the world of Grindcore. These two men are: Brad Vanderzee: Drums; and Chris Montez: Guitar/Vocals. These two progenitors would bestow upon themselves the moniker DECRYPT. From this day forth, they vowed to unleash the most vile, reprehensible and turbulent music their supple young bodies were capable of emitting. They would find a bass player in Billy O'Neil, one of the finest fret fondlers in all of Northwest Indiana. He would serve Decrypt well in the year to come. His style was unique and unorthodox. But times grew tough and Billy was forced to forgo practice to enjoy the last remaining seasons of Friends. After the sudden loss of Billy, the core of Decrypt was faced with the apparently insurmountable task of replacing the only bass player they had ever known. Not one to back down in the face of adversity, Chris Montez decided to probe the Northwest Indiana Underground Music Scene. What he would find would prove to be both revolting and stimulating "Jimbo the Reaper"Kelly;Bass: would step forward to fill the long standing void left by Billy. What Jimbo lacked in age, he more than made up for in sensuality. Oh yeah, and he's the fucking best bass player I've ever met. Jimbo's skill and dexterity with his fingers would propel Decrypt into the professional grind arena almost instantaneously. Jimbo also came with intimate knowledge of an unknown scene of musicians to Brad and Chris. Soon after Jimbo began his work with Decrypt, he had joined a side project band by the name Ritual Homicide. In Ritual Homicide, Jimbo would meet his future bandmate: A truly magnificent specimen of a man, an entity placed upon this earth to viciously brutalize all challengers, who would soon become the vanguard of the newest and most exciting heavy metal band to emerge from the slums of Schererville, IN. It was the singer and guitarist of Ritual Homicide who would become the new leader of Decrypt. Zach Gheaja;Vocals. MISSION STATEMENT With a clear conscience and even clearer skin, Decrypt is set to dismantle, analyze, violate, reassemble, and deliver your preconcieved notions of heavy music back to you in a little sandwich baggy you should be using for drugs.
