Decay of the Angel is Yuki "Kabuki" Sakurai: vocals, all guitars, all music and lyrics, all programming and synthesizers. Harry "Dirty Harry" Dalrymple, Jr.: electric bass guitar and all around good vibes! what more could you possibly ask for? hmmmmm???
We appropriated our name from the final work by the late great Post-War writer Yukio Mishima (三島由紀夫) titled "The Decay of the Angel" in English and (天人五衰) in the ancient Japanese dialect. we have been creating sinisterly psychic soundscapes since as early as 1999, when upon hearing John Frusciantes' fragile and artistic fretwork of that years Red Hot Chili Peppers' album titled "Californication". Yuki decided to pick up and attempt to learn and express herself with an electric guitar as opposed to a paint brush or any other medium of self creation and expression. she puts feeling over form and substance over technique in her attempt to lay her soul on the line for all the world to hear or not hear, whichever is the case. we have been together since 1988 and married since 1991. we have no children and we are in our creative summit and peak of artistic expression and form. we released our debut album on Chuck Dukowskis' (yes, THAT Chuck Dukowski! of Black Flag infamy!) Nice & Friendly Records on October 16th, 2007. and for that honor and privilege we are eternally and infinitely grateful and humbled to our very souls!!! we would like to thank each and every one of you who take the time from your busy daily lives to check out our profile and hopefully even listen to our strange sounds. mediocre we are notliterary influences abound in our world of musical mayhem and creative cognizance. forever may you live in eternal peace and happiness. thank you from the depths of our hearts. sincerely we mean that! peace. get over and create your own sounds.
