Decahedron formed from the ashes of Frodus and Fugazi in early 2002. Shelby Cinca, Jason Hamacher, and Joe Lally wrote and recorded one ep and a full length together. Below is the details of the bands history.
January 2002
Shelby Cinca and Jason Hamacher reunite after the demise of Frodus and ask Fugazis Joe Lally to play bass.
February 2002
Hamacher leaves for a three month excursion to Europe and Turkey. At the time of departure the trio had practiced twice and Jason had recorded drum tracks for three songs. No definitive future plans.
March 2002
Cinca and Lally continue to write music and add instrumentation/vocals to Hamachers drums tracks. The finished songs were emailed to Hamacher just before he set out to explore Turkeys eastern Kurdish region. Cinca and Lally decided the music was more than a project and decided to form a band. Hamacher received the news via email while crossing the Syrian plain. Inspired by the region he suggested naming the group The Black Sea and the band was official.

The Black Sea recorded three songs for future release.
November 2002

Cinca returns to the Romanian homeland for family business while Lally journeyed to Italy with extended family. Upon their return, Cinca set up a recording studio in the house he shared with Hamacher and began recording band practices. Material was coming fast so the three began working towards a full length.
March 2003 September 2003
The Black Sea wrote and recorded the majority of the full length album DISCONNECTION_IMMINENT. The Black Sea receive an email stating the bands' name was taken and had to change or legal action would be taken.
