'(Omnivore) is a disgracefully monikered trio of Zorn-again pranksters who make Acoustic Ladyland sound like Jamiroquai. With a mission statement best summed up by the spoonerised track title 'Funk As Puck', it's a glimpse of what the snarling nihilism, amphetimised energy and gob-in-yer-eye attitude of punk might have achieved if, instead of stopping Prog in its tracks, it had taken up the challenge of virtuoso instrumentalism and used it for its own subversive ends. It's a raw, bristling stab of brain damaged electro-metal improv and freak-out-thrash-skronk that combines the quirky complexity of Henry Cow with the harsh, metallic outbursts of Naked City and a small dose of Ozric Tentacles' dark, psychedelic menace - weird flailing musical death throes constantly on the verge of disintegrating into chaos, which somehow manage to maintain a furious energy and unstoppable coherence. Clever (c)unts.'

More of their free-form instrumental hardboiled lo-fi progressive avant jazz. Bits of clever fusion and Gong jousting with awkwardly flowing homemade pleasant-on-the-ear tenor sax driven psych-jazz honking and tight impressive percussion. - OrganMagazine

What you've got here is ugly freeform progressive jazz. I mean really nasty. Songs may start out sounding like Steve Hillage jamming with Didier Malherbe in the good old days, but soon the rhythm starts fluctuating, the structure collapses and the instrumentalists spiral off into atonal gibbering wreckage. This is punk in the pure. - Sandman Magazine
