Review:

Finally the return of Deanne Berry! Featured in the two best 'Pump It Up' workouts hands down (the others are good but 'Beach Body' and 'Hi-Energy' aren't challenging and 'Dancemix' is way too girly and technical), the Australian dancer/choreographer is back for more, this time supporting the 'Clubland' branch.

Well, now I have done my first recognition viewing (I haven't tried it yet), and all I can say is 'thumbs up'.

First, Deanne is as good and encouraging as ever (although maybe a bit more tarty outfit-wise), and the soundtrack is brilliant, apart from that cheap 'Now You're Gone' cover (as if AATW didn't have other 'real' hits to put on this DVD!). The mixing of the tracks is not always perfect but it is quite a minor detail.

As for the workout, it is divided between four 15 minute-sections (aerobics, dance, combat and toning), with a warm up and a cool-down section.

On the whole, this is really a high-energy workout and it looks quite challenging. 'Pump It Up' fans like me will recognise a lot of moves practised before (usually at a higher speed), with a couple more added. To sum it up, it has the challenging energy of the first 'Pump It Up' with the variety and easy-to-use qualities of 'Burn It, Lose It'.

If you are a beginner, this may be a bit hard, but lower intensity moves are shown as well, so you should be able to work your way through it. As for more confirmed users, this is a nice and challenging progression from Deanne's previous works and should keep you going for 2009. I can't wait to try it!

Now I'm curious too see how the new back-to-basics 'Pump It Up - Aeroburn' will do, but 'Clubland - Work It Out' is definitely a very tough act to follow and shouldn't be left out if you like aerobics and dance music.

BIOGRAPHY

Born and raised in Australia, Deanne has spent most of her performing life in Sydney. She has since moved and set up home in London.

Deanne has performed with and choreographed for some of the worlds top artists. She has most recently worked with Kylie Minogue, Basement Jaxx, Blue, Cliff Richard and of course the world-wide number one hit single 'Call on Me' by Eric Prydz.

Since the release of the notorious 80's style 'Call on Me' video in which she plays the role of an aerobics instructor she has been in constant demand and thus catapulted into the media spotlight.

Tony Blair was also heard recently telling Chris Evans like on UK Radio Aid.

' The first time it came on, I nearly fell off my rowing machine!' which of course made not only the tabloids, but also the broadsheets to fall into a media frenzy!

She has made appearances on many television shows in the U.K & abroad including:

Top of The Pops, CD:UK, Popworld, Never mind the Buzzcocks, T4 (Where she had to teach Vernon Kay to dance!)

As well as front covers on most of the daily newspapers, she has become a 'lads mag' favourite with features & photo-shoots in magazines such as FHM, Loaded, Zoo, Nuts which have garnered her sackfuls of fan-mail.

In December 2004 she released a hugely successful spin off from the 'Call on Me' campaign. 'Pump it Up' the definitive fitness video went straight to the top of the DVD chart for a long stint, then later returned to number one which is a testament to its huge popularity. It had rave reviews from men & women alike. 'Pump it Up' currently holds a firm top five position amongst other fitness videos. Deanne again took the role of fitness instructor and managed to amazingly work out, teach and look flawless all at the same time!!

Since the release of her fitness video, Deanne has been in the studio collaborating with top music producers on her first single. Because of her background in singing & dancing, her first single is being much anticipated by both the music and media industry.

She is also honing her skills as a television presenter and recently almost caused a riot whilst out shooting a vox-pops in a shopping centre with young men desperate to be interviewed by her!

Deanne was picked to play for the '10 th Annual Music industry Soccor Six tournament' at West Ham and played alongside celebrities such as Rod Stewart, Chris Evans & Chris Moyles. The Event was covered by T4, MTV, CNN, Sky Sports, GMTV, Radio One and also had extensive coverage across all national and regional tabloids as well as HEAT, Now, OK! etc

In May 2005, Deanne signed up with a major distrubutor of worldwide mobile entertainment and is set to release her personal fitness tips (The Deanne Berry Workout), dance steps, her new single etc. Deanne has an extensive worldwide following and she hopes to be able to reach out to them with this up to the minute technology.

Deannes credits also include the smash hit Queen musical 'We Will Rock You', The successful tour of 'Long way to the Top', Caroline O'Connors - Stage to Screen @ The Sydney Opera House, The State of Origin & The Opening of Fox Studios, Australia
