There but for the preservation of violence in the punk/hardcore movement go DEADSETAGAINST. Allow me to explain. I'm not talking about gooned out shit eaters in Offspring shirts taking swings at some poor fucker trying to get his dance on. I'm talking about sweet release of unbridled disgust and contempt for a world that has gone mad with the pursuit of riches and recognition, the tortured howling lamentations of one who is at his wits end accompanied by a wall of sonic fury that brings to mind the image of the sky shattering and tearing to shreds anything unfortunate enough to be underneath it. Brothers and sisters, we may never be the same again.

In a time that found the scene splintered into a dozen different factions, each too cool to be seen at the others shows, DEADSETAGAINST had crustpunx, straightedge, emo kids, metal heads, skin heads, trendy here today gone tomorrow types, hardcore thugs, and even the nearly extinct rude boys all standing in unity with their arms around each other as they screamed along with such conviction you would think they wrote the songs themselves. This brethren is the very reason DSA existed.

The line-up:Rudy(vocals)Damien(bass, backing vocals)Brian/Sean(git)Bill/Jeff(beats)

On stage, DEADSETAGAINST looked as though they were fighting for their lives(they pretty much were) pouring every ounce of emotion into each performance, whether it be a party at a freinds house or at the Key Club in Hollywood with punk legends like the EXPLOITED. As soon as Rudy put forth the challenge to anybody that knew the words to take the microphone away from him, all the fury of heaven and hell erupted as a sea of bodies rushed forward while behind them a whirlwind of fists and feet made the dance floor look like a kung-fu holocaust. Surprisingly enough, no one ever got hurt, not too bad anyway, and there was not not one god damned fightever!

What the fuck is that fat guy barking about you ask? Plain and simple, the struggle to keep the demons at bay. Which demons? The ones inside all of us, the ones in blue uniforms, the ones outside your window in the dead of night, the ones that live in bottles and plastic bags, the ones we sleep next to, and the ones waiting for us when we give up the ghost.

Who do they sound like? That's not so easy, honestly, DSA's music brings about the feeling of an era when every band sounded different. Not the "Fat Wreck Chords bands sound like this" tired ass trend sound bullshitbelched out by the truckload these days. It is without a doubt HARDCORE FUCKING PUNK for the sake of HARDCORE FUCKING PUNK, and I'd like to see you find someone who says otherwise that isn't in some band that got their heads cut off by DEADSETAGAINST a.k.a. "The Sons Of Blood And Flame!"
