Born in Rochester,NY, David "Deadman Walking" has always gone against the grain. While most rappers choose to glorify the fancy tricked out cars, chunky jewelry, loose women, homes, wads of cash and attribute it to the selling of drugs, David chooses to emphasize his side of the story. The drug addicted mothers. Teenage pregnancy. Pregnant drug addicts. Dead-beat fathers. The teens in caskets. Child negligence. Poverty. Ignorance.



Being the product of a teen aged mother who has spent the rest of her life struggling with her drug addiction, he personally identifies with the issues of not having a father at home, having little to no food, witnessing terrible atrocities, domestic abuse in the home, among other things.



After years of feeling rejected, being bounced from home to home amongst relatives, the burden of feeling like his mother's addiction was his own fault, the haunting images he witnessed at an early age, a 15 year old David finally broke and made what he calls "more of a cry for help than a real suicide attempt." Diagnosed with severe depression, and later on diagnosed as being bi polar/schitzophrenic, David spent the next few years dealing with his own drug and alcohol problem and battling mental illness.



At the age of 18, after losing it all, he attempted to take his own life in a serious manner only to have an encounter with GOD that changed everything. After coming to terms with the fact that his own actions have put him where he is, and that he deserves hell, David asked possibly the most important question of his entire life: "Why? Why did You let me be born into this? It's not my fault my mother's a drug addict. It's not my fault my father's a loser. Why did you let me witness and experience these things?" The Lord answered "It takes someone like you, to reach someone like you." It is with that sense of purpose that David approaches his music.



With no intention of seeking fame while also trying to steer clear of the politics of the music business, David has released 2 small independent projects respectively titled "The Prequel" and "Random Thoughts". While neither one has pushed extraordinary units, the testimonies alone make it entirely worth it for David. Having a stage presence that captivates all ages, and even those who aren't fans of the rap genre, it's clear that there's something special about this man. Something that makes people listen.



Now, able to see the big picture, David intends on breaking into the music industry. Not with the intention of fame or fortune, but with the understanding that he can't reach the world on his own. With his inspirational, motivational, and educational message that fuses late 90's lyrical agility, fused with the catchy melodious style we hear now, he plans on reaching any and everyone who will give him a 30 second listen. Dealing with a wide variety of subject matter, from politics and race relations, to religious matters and theology, he puts his whole heart into every song.



With sincerity he states,"I'm not trying to force anything on anyone. I just want the freedom to be able to present my case, plant these seeds, and let them grow where they grow."
