Oshawa is a small factory town about an hour east of Toronto. This particualar Canadian shithole is best known for it's crack cocaine, escalating crime rate, psychotic locals: mullets, dirty coogars, rednecks, junkies and bums/us. The big shitty GM plant hires mostly out of town workers, so most 'shwa folk try to commute to the big city for work, or else collect welfare and smoke crack.
This is were the Dead Dogmatics call home.
Rory and Tim became drinking buddys around the summer of 2001, and started a fucking shite punk rock band called "The Pie Phuckerz", with local degenerates Mike Mcbastard (deceased) and Andrew Baldwin (joined army). After many druken practises and even more drunken shows, Tim said "FUCK THIS" and that was the end of that noise. Tim and Rory did fuck all for a year or two with going-nowhere bands until December of 2003. A rancid neanderthal drinking buddy, (Caveman) agreed to pick up bass. Slash-wannabe Timbar of course on lead axe, and a greasy little italian lad tried to play drums, Rory grabbed the mic and the first rendition of the Dead Dogmatics was born. The first few months were more about drinking than jammming but after a few gigs they knew sebby was out. They than located a drummer (Justin) who came with a bass player, (Scotty) who ended up the better end of the deal, Scotty being a good buddy for years, and Justin lasting only one gig. Finally they got their newfie drinking buddy Huricane, to fill on drums and the Five were good to go.
The Dead Dogmatics originally played Oshawa gigs at the Dungeon and Polish Hall and shit local dives and all agreed they needed out of the fucking city. They started playing more Toronto gigs and have played with bands like The Antics, The Matadors, The 3-Tards, The G- Men, The GutterDemons, Punch Drunk, Dayglo Abortions, and opened up for punk rock legends The Vibrators. The Dead Dogmatics have a distinct political message drowned out by drinking anthems and meaningless songs of sex, drugs and violence.
