The facile melodic lines she weaves are enough to make anyone a believer. So, if you think you’ve made up your mind about jazz, hold your verdict because the jury’s still out. Dayna Lynn is redefining this American art form for the 21st century by bridging the gap between generations: she is introducing some and reacquainting others with jazz.



Both contemporary and classic, Dayna Lynn’s music has been dubbed R and B Bop: where complicated harmonies make a bed for smoothly executed melodies. It combines the soul of rhythm and blues with the intellect of jazz. Her songs are carefully composed symphonies with Dayna Lynn as songwriter, producer and arranger. As gems for the heart, water for the spirit, and food for the mind, her lyrics create a looking glass through which her listeners see themselves and their world, and are thus motivated to take the reins of life.



A graduate of Chicago’s premiere fine arts high school, The Chicago Academy for the Arts, Dayna Lynn knows music and she is music. She picked up her first instrument, piano, at 6 and didn’t stop there; picking up flute and saxophone along the way. She also has a Bachelor of Arts in vocal jazz from Webster University in St. Louis. Not only is Dayna Lynn a performer she has also music directed and composed/arranged music for several musical theatre productions including Congo Square Theatre’s Black Nativity (adapted by Mike Malone) and Ifa Bayeza’s The Adventures Kid Zero.



Dayna Lynn is a herald of her generation, empowering all who experience her, both live and on record, to move to action.
