Columbian thrash death metallers Daycore present their blistering debut release THE BEGINNING OF PURGATORY featuring the single DARK VISIONS FROM THE OTHER SIDE (included on Metal Hammer’s cover mount CD in March 2010).
Formed in 2002 Daycore started making music that was both ferocious and socially conscious. Fuelled by their reactions to the political climate and social injustice they recorded their first EP Unconscience combining elements of thrash and death metal and establishing the band’s characteristic heavy sound. The band showcased their first release in July 2002 in Porfirio Barajacob theatre and Marinilla Antioquia’s main theatre.
After enduring some internal conflicts Daycore returned to the scene with renewed vigour in 2006 winning first place in the metal category at the Altavoz festival in Medellin and securing them a slot at the international Altavoz festival with a massive 70,000 attendance.
In 2008 Daycore debuted the full-length album The Beginning of Purgatory promoting its main single Dark Visions from the Other Side with a video on the CD release. A support slot with Mortal Sin helped the band promote their new album throughout South America.
Following on from the success the album has won the band Daycore are hitting the road once again with the Beginning of Purgatory South American Tour 2010 taking in Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina and Chile and including 3 festivals. Along with 16 other bands Daycore will also be playing a very special concert in Colombia cities like; Pereira Viva Fest (guest of honor) and in medellin to raise money for the people of Haiti.
Late 2010, the band won the first place for the second time in metal category at the Altavoz festival in Medellin, and securing a slot at the international Altavoz with a massive 75,000 attendance, because of the success in Altavoz festival, the band was invited to perform at the festival commemorating the 335 birthday of Medellin city of with other bands recognized by the city.
DAYCORE currently preparing to enter the studio and record a new production planned will be completed by the end of this year

DAYCORE nace en febrero de 1999 en la ciudad de Medellín Colombia; momento en el cual la banda comienza tanto su composición musical como temática. Su temática evoca la cruda realidad que se vive en el mundo actual con críticas constructivas y señalando acontecimientos violentos que de una u otra manera nos afectan.
DAYCORE comienza a grabar su Ep Debut a finales del año 2002, "UNCONSCIENCE" que consta de 4 tracks donde se combina el thrash metal con elementos del Death metal; dándole a la banda el toque que los ha caracterizado.
Luego de promocionar dicho trabajo por diferentes medios; DAYCORE hace su lanzamiento el 14 de julio de 2002 en el teatro "Porfirio Barbajacob", y el 28 de julio en el teatro principal de marinilla Ant. Después de esto la banda empieza a trabajar en su nuevo material.
En el 2006 vuelve con renovadas fuerzas luego de superar algunos conflictos internos y gana el primer puesto del festival Altavoz en la ciudad de Medellín en la categoría Metal y un puesto para tocar en el festival Altavoz Internacional.
En el 2008 Lanza "THE BEGINNING OF PURGATORY", promocionando su principal sencillo" DARK VISIONS FROM THE OTHER SIDE" en diferentes recopilaciones como: TRUE METAL SUBVERSIÓN 2 (Col.), en Inglaterra con el sello CONQUER RECORDS. Más tarde se lanzaría el video en formato profesional de dicho sencillo.
En 2010 se lanzan de gira suramericana en "The Beginning Of Purgatory South American Tour" Visitando algunos países suramericanos, en este mismo año aparecen la reconocida revista METALHAMMER del reino unido junto a otras bandas del mundo en la copilación "Planet Metal CD". También participo en otros festivales importantes en Pereira Viva fest (Invitado de honor) y un concierto para recoger dinero para la gente de Haití.
A finales de 2010 gana otra vez el primer puesto en la categoría metal del festival Altavoz en Medellin, asegurándoles un puesto en el prestigioso festival internacional altavoz con una asistencia de 75.000 personas; debido debido a su éxito en la presentación de dicho festival, fueron invitados a tocar en el festival conmemorativo del cumpleaños número 335 de la ciudad de medellin junto a otras bandas reconocidas de la ciudad.
Actualmente DAYCORE se prepara para entrar al estudio y grabar su nueva producción que se proyecta estará lista para finales del presente año
