DAWN RAID

Dawn Raid is a Jungle/Drum and Bass artist collective based in the UK’s city of Manchester, which is famed throughout the world for its vibrant and diverse music culture. Dawn Raid was formed in 2006 and in 2007 saw their first exposure as a result of their debut release ‘Try to Believe’ on the Liverpool based label Raw Recordings. In addition to this they also gained a place on DJ Sappo’s Advisory Mix-tape ‘Mission Impossible’ with their remix of his track ‘Sky’. Production and live performances continued to grow for the collective around the North West of the UK which, included well received sets at the legendary Warehouse project and APE at the Manchester Apollo along with the well –renowned Platoon, Hit + Run, Religion and Ohmygod club nights based in the city. Dawn Raid’s production continued to gain interest with regular plays on BBC Radio 1Xtra from Bailey, Sappo, L-Double, and Crissy Cris with their tracks also creeping onto BBC Radio 1 in sets hosted by Nihal and more recently Ras Kwame.
Dawn Raid is currently working with artists such as Garage/Dub-step pioneer Zed Bias and Peter Bouncer of ‘Junglist’ and ‘Raving I’m Raving’ fame. They continue to support DJ Sappo and also London based Jungle pioneers Knowledge and Wisdom through remix work. With more original material and remix from other well known artists in the pipe-line, the future is looking bright for this Manchester collective.
