Dawn McClain's soulful path began in Los Angeles, California, where like so many great African American singers; her musical foundation was established in the church. Dawn began singing and directing choirs at age 11, and she continued to develop her skills throughout high school. After completing her tour of duty in the United State Air Force, she moved to Atlanta, Georgia where she has become well known for her unique sound.

Around Atlanta, Dawn has trail blazed her way to the stages of clubs such as the Apache Café, Café 290 and the Hard Rock Café. Dawn is a Hard Rock Café Harmony in Life show favorite-also performing at Centennial Olympic Park-and she is one of the featured artists on the television pilot. She has also been showcased at Lip Service, Milan, Barley's Billiards and the 2006 Atlantis conference.

Her other solo endeavors include entertaining audiences for organizations such as The Rainbow PUSH Coalition and at events including The 2nd and 3rd Annual C. Morrison presents "Celebrating Women of Color in Politics." These events have allowed Dawn to perform for local dignitaries including Mayor Shirley Franklin, Senator Connie Stokes and Commissioner William "Bill" Edwards. She has also performed for audiences at The People's Station-V-103's Back to School Kick Off two years in a row.

Dawn has also blended her vocals style with bands Delores Major and Rhapsody Lechic to gain even more acclaim as an Atlanta favorite at the Wednesday Wind Down at Centennial Olympic Park, the 2004 National GMSDC award banquet, Soul Jazz Fridayz at the Sun Trust Plaza, Mosaic Soul at the Hilton Club and events at The Georgian Terrace Grand Ballroom. . Dawn was also the featured lead singer for Sol Factor, an upcoming band in Atlanta, Georgia. In a short time, the group has gained its own claim to fame by opening for soul singer Kem at the Lithonia Concert Series. They have also opened at the Michael Baisen show, 2006 Wing Fest and V-103's Art and Jazz show. The group's crowd-pleasing accolades also earned them a spot at the W Hotel, where you can find them every Friday this summer from 8-12.

Bearing the melodic promise of her predecessors Patti Labelle, Chaka Khan and Aretha Franklin, it is easy to understand how Dawn has had the privilege to sing background for R&B legend Jean Carne, Anne Nesby, Gordon Chambers, Gary "Lil G" Jenkins, Phillippia, Gaielle, Smoki Brown, and Nessa Morgan. Dawn also has gained many hours of studio work with other industry greats such as the Platinum Brothers, and she is currently working on her solo project with Dave "Jam" Hall and other Atlanta producers.

In 2005 Dawn traveled to Germany to sing in the Star entertainment group- The Black gospel singers- where she became a favorite; singing songs such as "Swing low sweet chariot" from The Fighting Temptations. Dawn McClain is certainly one to watch. Her incredible harmonious skills are a gift to be shared and a secret not to be kept.
