Live at the Summer Solstice Jazz Festival, 6/19/15

Randy Napoleon: Randy, an assistant professor of jazz guitar at MSU and touring musician with the likes of Freddy Cole, Michel Buble’, Benny Green and the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra, has invited a couple of his friends, (who just happen to be some of the best jazz guitarists in the business), to join him onstage at the SSJF.
Peter Bernstein: Peter got his start recording with Lou Donaldson, and has gone on to share the stage and studio with such legendary jazz artists as; Jimmy Cobb, Larry Goldings, Bill Stewart, Joshua Redman, Diana Krall, Dr. Lonnie Smith, Nicholas Payton and Sonny Rollins.
Dave Stryker: 26 Cd’s to date, (his most recent Messin’ with Mister T reached #1 on JazzWeek Radio and received 4 1/2 Stars in Downbeat!) Along with a 2 year stint with organist Jack McDuff, Mr. Stryker spent 9 years backing up tenor sax player Stanley Turrentine.

The SSJF is a free two-day festival in the heart of downtown East Lansing featuring the best in local, regional and national musicians. The festival is produced by the City of East Lansing, Wharton Center for Performing Arts and the MSU College of Music, with artistic direction by Rodney Whitaker.
