Dave was born in Connecticut, and started playing the organ at the age of six. At his first recital the organ he was suppose to play broke, forcing him to play the song on the piano.it was easier and had less pedals, so he figured " I better learn to play this thing in case the organ breaks again next year".
Dave grew up with the same musical influences as every American kid, The Beatles, Billy Joel, Guns and Roses, just to name a few. He started recording with friends and made his first demo at age 14. He continued to write songs and gig regularly while studying music in college.
Ultimately, a conventional career in music wasn't what he wanted.so be blew town and soon found in himself down in Daytona Beach, living with a friend and playing at hotels on the beach. It was everything and nothing at the same time. Days spent looking for work, and nights spent playing to crowds, feeling like a millionaire. But he wasn't a millionaire, and reality set in fast. He was forced to move back up north.
Now armed with the kind of chops, instincts, thick skin, and stage presence that you can only get from a couple hundred nights playing to sunshine state tourists, Dave has spent the last few years in New York, gigging in some of its most famous clubs, and honing his writing. Hes released three records whose songs have been featured in independent film, college radio, ABC radio, and hundreds of internet radio stations around the world.
And the best is yet to come. Dave closed out his last round of tour dates with a sold-out show at the Seven Angels Theater in Waterbury, CT, which was captured on video www.youtube.com/davediedrich for a DVD release next year.
