Hi there!
my name is Dave, also known as DJ DAV.
I recently noticed my bio was so damn stuffy and boring it almost made me choke. Let's try this again.
Generally, I produce funky stuff as I am generally upbeat :)
While other times although brief and infrequent, I may become angst ridden, in which case at that time, I will make stuff that is more reflective and less bouncing with less of the wham-bam get down thang.(Oh how I do love that wham-bam stuff!)
Safe to say, I am a creative person on many levels. I would probably not be happy writing code for a living if I tried. Which is not to say that I don't have a hightly powerful brain however. I enjoy making even the most menial things in life as fun if possible, and that's why I generally choose to do things I deem as much fun as possible, such as:
Spinning records, producing music, organizing club nites & parties, photography, cooking( to be specific-I have a great affinity for spicy Thai food)
I live in Montreal.
This city is totally sweet. That's why I haven't left yet.
There must also be some kind of auspicious Feng-Shui "Trine" for arts and music at this longitude/latitude because seems like everyone is somehow involved!
Many Moons ago I studied at the University of Concordia in Electro-Acoustic Music and Sound design. Sounds kind of high brow, but It inspired me at the time to experiment with sound, like sampling the sound of eating cashews, throwing cutlery at stuff and low pass filtering my oscelating fan to make sub-bass loops.
I'd like to think and I 'll have you believe, I enjoy many different aspects of the music world. I hosted a radio show on CKUT 90.3 FM in Montreal for a year or so called "Deep Grooves". I have also made make music for film & web as well as CD & Vinyl. I swear it wasn't for the money!
That's why I work part time for a software company.
oh ya, I also like sarcasm, dead pan humor, and stating the obvious repreatedly until it becomes hilarious I don't think I mentioned that.
At the end of 2006, I launched a label ( who hasn't , lol ) with good friend and fellow house music affectionado Leon Louder.
Kinjo Music has a mission to release only the quality deep, jazzy and funky house beats.

The Kinjo Session Monthly is the first friday of the Month and is all about the deep , the funky, the jackin' and whatever it takes to get the floor movin' on any given night!
