Persistence, Passion and Focus coupled with international flavor describes Phoenix Spade to a tee.

From a young age, Spade was introduced to music and its therapeutic benefits. Opting to create art from her life’s experiences; “she who rose from her ashes” wanted to share her journey with others. Having lived her life between Africa, Canada and the USA, this daughter of a Canadian diplomat and Rwandan mother knew she had an outlook that was unique and refreshing. Referring to herself lovingly as a “mutt”, this petite and charming woman wears her emotions her sleeves…and proudly so. Thus, a true artist, her depth is reflected sincerely in her lyrical content.

Often described as a backpack rapper, she shied away from labels and developed her talent over the years. After being a part of several groups: “Les Massakreurs” (1995-1997); “148 Trio” (1997-2001) and “183 Soldiers” (2001-2002), she opted to go solo knowing she would have more creative control. Today, with a raw, honest, yet classy approach to an impeccable delivery, her growth is undeniable.

With the help of up-and-coming producers such as C-rius, Brownworks, Quest and Hellz; along with the support and motivation of a forever growing list of industry professionals, Phoenix Spade enters a new chapter in her career. After taking a un-intented hiatus, she’s back in the studio putting together what has always been the ultimate goal: her first official independent release. This will include special features by established artists and producers with an international flair. Being bilingual, she will be incorporating her French influences mixed with her Southside,Queens swag.

Always open to collaborations and supportive of the hip hop movement, expect to find in Phoenix Spade, a friend. Unlike reality television, her reality has been post-scripted by her music. “Music is the one thing that remained true and consistent in my life. How could I not return the favor by sharing my perspective?”

Welcome everyone, to what Spade calls: REALITY RAP.

“CAN YOU RECYCLE THE GARBAGE OF YESTERDAY INTO FUEL FOR TOMORROW'S SUCCESS?"
