Danny Wood is a "Kid" no longer.

For one thing, he's matured; for another, his debut solo album, Second Face, in early 2003, was a soulful mix of R&B, pop, and alternative-tinged tunes that any serious musician would be glad to claim as their own. The album released one single stateside that charted on Billboard and another that climbed to the Top 20 singles chart in Germany. But getting a proper hearing hasn't been easy when your past pedigree includes having been part of that late 80's/early 90's phenomenon, New Kids On The Block: it's been more of a Stumbling Block.

Despite NKOTB's achievements (record-breaking live show attendance and sales; superstardom on a global scale, and not to mention over 100 million albums sold around the world), the 'manufactured boy band' image continued to linger around the former members, which was a source of frustration for the talented Wood. "I will never complain about the ride and what I learned from it, but musically it definitely wasn't what I wanted to be doing for my own music. I discovered that I needed a new outlet, and the new music I'm doing now provided me that."

Danny's sophomore solo release is entitled Coming Home is due in January 2009. The acoustic album features 16 new songs both written and produced by Danny himself. This was an album Danny worked on, while filming a reality TV show for MTV Networks called "Totally Boyband" in the U.K. Danny and three other former boyband members formed the super group "Upper Street", and saw the show get some of the highest ratings in network history. The group released "The One" in fall 2006 to both radio and retail.

The soulful, heartfelt lyrics in the songs from Coming Home prove this new kid is all grown up and still has the right stuff. Currently on a massive world-wide tour with the recently reunited NKOTB, Danny Wood displays his amazing range of talent on this new acoustic album, featuring 16 tracks of beautifully constructed songs, all sung, played and written with astonishing honesty and emotion by a talent that has finally come into his own.
