Danny Ranks – Foundation Member des Ambassajah Camps, Marshall-DJ von Weedbeat Sound, Singjay, Chanter, Entertainer. Die Bezeichnungen für den Artist aus Österreich sind ebenso zahlreich wie die Shows, die er bereits auf dem Buckel hat.

Danny Ranks auf der Bühne, das ist „Niceness guaranteed“: Songs about Reality, Lovers-Balladen oder simple „Good Times-Lyrics“ vereinen sich zu einem runden Ganzen, vorgetragen in dem Singjay-Style für den er so bekannt ist. Dabei kann es auch vorkommen, dass er eben mal ein paar Imitationen von Tiger oder Jr. Demus aus dem Ärmel schüttelt – eine Einlage, die beim Publikum immer wieder für Lacher sorgt.

2002 gründete er mit Mr. Highhead die Formation Raggamaffia, die sich in der Folge zu einer der meistgebuchten Reggae-Crews in Österreich ausbauen konnte und im gesamten deutschsprachigen Raum spielte. So hatte er die Möglichkeit, auf Festivals wie dem Summerjam, dem Rototom Sunsplash oder dem Chiemsee Reggae Summer aufzutreten, um nur ein paar zu nennen.

Nicht genug gefordert, trennte sich Danny Ranks 2006 von Raggamaffia um eigene Wege zu beschreiten. Ein Schritt, den er und sein Publikum nicht bereut haben: Heftiges Touren war angesagt und Danny Ranks erspielte sich von Polen über Tschechien bis Deutschland ein begeistertes Publikum.

2007 war er einer der Gründer des Ambassajah Camps. Hier wird im eigenen Studio produziert und über Ambassajah Records auch gleich vertrieben, „keep it family“ ist das Motto.

2008 rief Jamaika: In Kingston wurde am ersten Release von Ambassajah Records gearbeitet – Ambassajah Showcase Volume 1. Bei Auftritten in und um Kingston schaffte es Danny Ranks auch die sonst so kritischen Jamaikaner für sich zu gewinnen: Die ihm oft gestellte Frage „Are you Jamaican“ konnte er nur wenig glaubwürdig mit Nein beantworten.

Außerdem war Danny Ranks 2008 auf dem Ganjaman-Album „Das gleiche alte Lied“ mit der Combination „Haltet sie auf“ vertreten. Ein Song, der sowohl in Deutschland als auch in Österreich auf großes Echo gestoßen ist und seinen Weg in die Playlists vieler Radiostationen gefunden hat.

Unterwegs mit seinem eigenen Sound Weedbeat Sound oder Solo lässt Danny Ranks keine Möglichkeit aus, seine Botschaft an den Mann zu bringen: Keep the fire burning, make the music playing – REGGAE TAKING OVER!

Danny Ranks, Foundation Member of the Ambassajah-Camp, Marshall-DJ of Weedbeat Sound, Singjay, Chanter, Entertainer. The names for this Austrian artist are as numerous as the shows he has already played.



Danny Ranks on stage – that’s niceness guaranteed: Songs about reality, ballades or simple good times-lyrics are performed in the Singjay-Style, for which he is well known.



In the year 2002 he founded the group Raggamaffia together with Mr. Highhead which became one of the most-booked Reggae-Crews in Austria and played in the whole German-speaking area. So he had the chance to play festivals like Summerjam, Rototom Sunsplash or the Chiemsee Reggae Summer, to name a few.



However, not challenged adequately, Danny Ranks split with Raggamaffia in 2006 to go separate ways. A step, neither he nor his fans have regretted: Heavy touring was the order of the day and Danny Ranks gathered an ardent audience from Poland to Germany.



In the year 2007 he was one of the founders of the Ambassajah-Camp. Here, music is produced in the own studio and gets distributed at the same time via Ambassajah- Records, “keep it family” is the motto.



2008 Jamaica was calling. In Kingston he worked on the first Ambassajah-Release – “Ambassajah Showcase Vol. 1”.

Furthermore, he was featured on the Ganjaman-Album “Das gleiche alte Lied” with the combination “Haltet sie auf” - a highly acclaimed song which drew attention in Germany as well as in Austria and found its way into the playlists of many radio-stations.
