Montreal born recording artist, intrinsic rocker danielle duval launches "OF THE VALLEY".
Delivered by a magnetically gutsy voice; the music is old school, harmony driven pop, mixed with an early rock n' roll sensibility. The band live, delivers music that is at times dreamily melodic and at others driven to feverish crescendos, all within the same track. An encapsulation of style and grit that harkens back to the likes of Patti Smith, Joan Jett, and Chrissy Hynde of the Pretenders. We hereby present you with a whole new approach that redefines the explosive girl rock era that took the world by storm and surprise in the 70s and 80s. Duval rips her axe, sings from the deep depths, and composes melodic songs with artful lyrics that leave her audience with a story told.
Duval hit Toronto with the launch of L'étranger. When the ep's track "You're The One That I Want" made it into a full fledged love scene on David Duchovny's cult TV series "Californication" on Showtime/The Movie Network, says Duval, "We knew we were headed in the right direction". The slow, bluesy, heart wrenchingly daring, countrified rendition of Grease's bubble gum pop tune also made it onto the show's official soundtrack.
Duval then set aside her own penchant for recording and production, that began with an early obsession for vintage fisher price gear, to join forces with the likes of the epic musical gods of Zeus. Followed by a lone wolf road trip through the Mojave Desert, and a brief sojourn in Joshua Tree, California; Duval was scouted at a packed Rivoli show by production guru, Carlin Nicholson. Together they set off to break new ground at Illeagle Studios, the birthplace of Zeus (Arts&Crafts). With Carlin and fellow Zeus founder Mike O'Brien at the production helm, along with musical contributions from The Golden Dogs, Bahamas, and a duet with Broken Social Scene's Jason Collett, the upcoming album is a destined rogue wave.
Duval's wicked voice and crazy talent has also been recognized and utilized by several Canadian Heavyweight Champions. She recently lent her pipes to an Emm Gryner production, sang on "Bootleg Saint" and "The Resistance" off Sam Roberts' Chemical City, Jason Collett's "Bitch City", and worked on her previous releases with Canadian Pride; Greg Keelor (Blue Rodeo) and Jim Creeggan (Barenaked Ladies).
Many great stages have been home to Duval and the band. They recently delivered an incredible residency at Toronto's new hipster bar The Piston with local heroes Sam Cash (the name speaks for itself), and louCanon (produced by Hayden). Amazing times have also been had at Toronto's Mod Club playing with Zeus and Matt Murphy (Superfriendz), Jason Collett's Dakota basement review, The Rivoli, The Horseshoe, Hillside, Canadian Music Week, NXNE, New Music West, and Pop Montreal.

The new sound will getcha. Stay Tuned.
